Re: OH, MARY Reviews (2026 New)

I'm a Meg Stalter fan... but... even after watching the stage door videos where it's just a constant bit after bit after bit, I imagine her interpretation is probably similar.

Re: SIX will close on Broadway this winter

I always caught this show with a lottery ticket and always felt like I was treated to a great little show. I've taken several friends to see it over the years. People who "aren't musical theater people" and they love it. Sad to see it go! I'll listen to the album from time to time while on a run and always enjoy it. Cheers to the creators of this show, taking such a fun little concept and taking it world wide.

And Jennifer is a major get for such a horrible show. I think it's still closing in January unless I m...

Re: Hollywoof Encore: Pro-Shot Broadway Shows

Another part of this conversation that my brain keeps going back to, it is so expensive to film a show on Broadway, due to the amount of regulations/red tape, so producers are opting to film in London. It's one of the other things I appreciated about the HADESTOWN pro shot. It blended the originals with the current London cast.

NYT: Why a Fabulous Broadway Show Can Fill Its Seats and Still Close

BrodyFosse123 said: "Um, yeah it was filling seats but everyone went using discount codes and most of these people raving they saw the show numerous times did so because they got $40 Rush tickets. No one was buying the regular priced tickets which are the seats that generate profit to keep shows running. Those $40 Rush tickets couldn’t even cover a performance’s WiFi bill."The article addresses that…

I’m sure it’s unrealistic… but damn would I be so interested to see Laurie Metcalf take this on.

Re: NYT: ‘Hadestown’ Hits Movie Theaters, and Theater to Stream in July

Agree with everyone's praises. The only thing I can add is that as soon as I left the theater, I text 3 people I knew to go see the filmed stage version. I would love for the trend of filming in front of a live audience to continue. It's so interesting to me, from what I gather, there's a logistical/financial reason as to why we're seeing these shows being filmed in London, it is just a nightmare and so expensive to film in NYC.

Ok., so posted my comment and then decided to youtube some videos. Found this video of them both of them singing "Hopeless War" from The Outsiders. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GqdclCyjJU&list=RD5GqdclCyjJU&start_radio=1 So... I think she may be kinda great for the role of Natalie. Her voice sounds perfect for it.

I get the frustration around nepotism and being able to just step into a role that thousands of young performers would absolutely knock out of the park, all because of who your mother is. I hope she knows how many people will be scrutinizing her performance, and I would love to consider her a nepo-baby with raw talent. We all know this isn't the first or last time this will happen, but if the performer in question rises to the occasion and is able to stand on their own, I'm able to forgive an...
