Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 needs to be revived and back on Broadway!!

I found an old Playbill article about the Ragtime/Showboat Canadian tuxedo of it all re: Garth Drabinsky and that was a wild ride to read.

I've followed a lot of what you've had to say about the financial mismanagement stuff w/r/t Great Comet -- but are you also suggesting fraud there, too?

My sense of relief, now that I know, is immeasurable.

King Charles III Updated?

My dream re-write would be to drop the entire Harry subplot and give more space to the William/Kate Macbeth-esque machinations.

Isn't Minnie one of the people who give false testimony? Her relationship with Lucille is fraught, and gives some context as to

I'll bring the rye bread!" or "Bring some rye bread!" or "You bring the rye bread!" are just expressions that mean, "We're gonna have a good time" or "Let's have a party!"

A Jewish mother might say her son is such a good boy, "He's like a nice slice fresh rye bread."

What are Your Definitive Productions?
 Aug 22 2016, 01:29:48 PM

I'm not trustworthy with this question because I am not always great at separating "definitive" from "this was the first one I saw and that's why it's definitive."

For instance, no other version of Into the Woods works for me but the Original Broadway Cast. However, I prefer the Raul Esparza version of Company -- but only probably because that was the first version I saw. (However, Elaine Stritch&#

Mary Martin visited her husband at a mental clinic

What's fascinating to me is the idea that the (still living) author is describing being somewhere for gay conversion therapy, and then having Mary Martin stop by and if that isn't God saying, "No, you're gay, it's fine," then I don't know what is.

Why aren't more people talking about this?

I think that is my favorite version of all the ones I've heard. It absolutely trumps, for me, the Original Cast version.

Shows where you prefer a different recording from the original?

This is the truest thing I have ever read in my ENTIRE LIFE.

(Also, if they try to come for you for this opinion, I will have your back as long as it doesn't require me to actually do anything.)

Most anticipated production for the 2016-2017 season?
 Aug 14 2016, 01:03:56 PM

I saw Les Liaisons Dangereuses (the simulcast filmed production, next to a woman with HORRIBLE breath and a nephew who is probably gay but she's not ready to hear that yet not to brag about my amazing experience) and it...wasn't great? Or maybe it's just I've seen the film approximately 468 times (I was SUPER popular as a teen and everyone wanted to hang out with me) so this production didn't seem to add anything? It's just the film, sans Glenn Close'

I am literally OBSESSED with that note/moment/way of life ENTIRELY. That note gives me hope that a no-pants grouchy life on Broadway may still be in the cards for ol' Mike Bevel.

Bad Theater Behavior
 Aug 13 2016, 03:33:04 PM

My favorite Bad Theater Behavior experience was at "Therese Raquin" earlier this year. It was a Saturday matinee, every senior citizen in Manhattan was there, and when a character says he's moving everyone to Paris, a woman in the audience said, loudly, as if she were in conversation with the actors, "Paris? They'll LOVE Paris."

And that's when I adopted her as my grandmother and want only good things and soft foods to happen to her.
