Most anticipated production for the 2016-2017 season?

Personally, I am looking forward to Great Comet more than anything else.

I think that Hello, Dolly is highly anticipated purely because of Midler.

possibly Midler's HELLO, DOLLY? For new shows: GREAT COMET & DEAR EVAN HANSEN.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I'm the most excited for Great Comet and Dear Evan Hansen! I saw The Bandstand at Paper Mill, so I'm also excited to see it again and see how it changes.

Speaking broadly, Hello, Dolly! will be an super hot ticket.

Within the theatre geek world, I believe War Paint will have at least a solid few weeks of being sold-out and difficult to obtain.

In the family/kids world, Anastasia and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory look to be hot as well.

I also think Amélie will have a pretty sizable audience with Phillipa Soo's name attached.

Personally, it's Great Comet, The Front Page (that cast!) and Significant Other for me. In terms of mainstream attention, I can't think of anything that will get more press than Bette Midler and Dolly.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Well, I had the blessing to see Anastasia (and planning on seeing the final version on Broadway next year), so for me Hello, Dolly!, Dear Evan Hansen and Miss Saigon. Charlie peaked my interest when I read yesterday that it'll be more like the film version by adding the film numbers (thank God!)

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

It is at least incorporating some of the songs from the 1971 film adaptation, so we'll see how they blend in with Shaiman & Wittman's score.

Definitely most excited for Hello Dolly and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory of the ones I've seen. I really hope I can afford to go up and see them sometime in the year. Some of the others sound great too, but Dolly and Charlie are at the top of my must-see list.

I do wonder just how much they'll add from the 1971 movie to Charlie though. I get the feeling the main additions will just be adding in the "Candy Man" and "I've Got a Golden Ticket" songs. I kind of hope they don't give Veruca her song from the movie as I feel giving just one of the kids their own song in the 2nd act would just kind of...offset everything somehow. They could also move Pure Imagination to its 1971 placement, but from what I've heard of the London production it works well in its placement there, so if they move it they'd need to make a new song for that part.
