I think the tour has gotten good reviews, but I think I'll skip this just for this particular venue alone. If it were to play in a Broadway house, I would probably go and see it.

MB, I didn't realize she had the Kirk Cameron disease. Perhaps the role will be re-written as a loving guardian.
My parents saw the tour and enjoyed it -- even though they hate Annie, in general.
eta: Me too, Dottie. And it's not just the venue, but the type of audience this will likely attract that will counter my curiosity.

I'm kind of interested to see Kathie Lee as Hannigan, but I will likely skip it too...because of the venue.

The venue is terrible, but frankly, I'm glad that the tours of ANNIE and PETER PAN went to MSG, because I would really rather see the actual Broadway revivals be a little more imaginative.

I think the funniest Kathie Lee story -- and she told it herself -- involved her stint in PUTTING IT TOGETHER. As a part of the show, she was to sing "Could I Leave You?" and had a very tough time --because of her faith, she said -- singing the lyric "Just wait a goddamn minute!"
She asked Sondheim for a possible alternate. The problem was making the lyric still scan right and mean the same thing -- he first suggested replacing the offending word with "bloody." But having a New York matron sing a British-ism like "Just wait a bloody minute!" didn't make sense. Then he struck upon the obvious ... could she say "Just wait a f***ing minute"?
The f-bomb apparently aligned with her faith, and that's what she sang the nights she went on in the show.

Ugh, couldn't pay me to sit through this. It does suck for the actress who was playing the role on tour. I wonder if she'll get bumped to understudy?

I kinda feel bad for Alene Robetson but on the other hand she has been doing the role for sooo long that it's nice to hear someone else is doing it. Plus I don't really like Alene Robertson because of this show. I agree about the venue. I saw Peter Pan there last year and wasn't overly enthused with the experience. Still I wish the show the best of luck because Annie is a great show.

I'll be watching for freebies. MSG Theatre has seating for 5,600. That cavern of a theater will be half empty every night.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
