Baby Spice?
Oops - that's Emma Bunton.
Considering Samantha lives with Emma, then yes. I would think she'd know.
Good for her! She's very talented and this score will sound great in her range.
Aaaaaah. didn't know they were room mates

Who is that expressionless Alexis girl that sings before her?
Yay, Emma! Updated On: 8/22/11 at 12:27 AM
That's what all the rumors say...but there has been no official announcement.
That Alexis girl is awful.

I enjoyed Hunton quite a bit in Spring Awakening, I look forward to seeing her as Natalie.
Sadly, its not (yet) scheduled to come to Boston and I doubt I'd go down to Providence just to see this. But as they just added dates the other day (Chiacago?) I'll remain hopeful!
I too would like to see her play the role.

Any word on when they're actually announcing this cast?
They don't usually announce the coming of an announcement...but no.
While it could come at any time, it often happens near the begining of rehearsals. I BELIEVE that the show doesn't open until late November -- so rehearsals might night even begin until mid-late October.
I've seen Alexis in another video and I think she's okay. Better singer than actress.
Are you sure Emma's right for the role? In that clip of the song, I don't think she has IT for Natalie. Maybe u/s, but I don't think she should be the lead.
Adam Kantor's facebook status:
"Beyond happy to be rehearsing Next To Normal with Emma Hunton. It and she are my jam."
playbill.com lists her as the current Natalie u/s in addition to MacKenzie Mauzy being listed as a Natalie u/s. I assume Meghann is on vacation. Anyone know?
Emma Hunton is on as Natalie at the matinee this afternoon!
Seeing the show along with some other bww-ers...will report back!
I'm very jealous adamgreer.

She was excellent! I'll let adamgreer give details.
She was outstanding. Absolutely wonderful, especially given it was her first show.
She presents herself as a feisty Natalie in her scenes with others, but in her solo moments, shows a great vulnerability. She also had a wonderful voice. I was impressed. She'll be a fine Natalie on the tour.
I'm very jealous that you got to see her as Natalie!!
