Why not Devil Wears Prada??

Of all the absurd and rediculous movies turned Broadway musicals in recent years and coming down the pike, why has no one been inspired to musicalize The Devil Wears Prada??? It's a hit movie that would actually make sense as a musical. I can see the production already. It has sass, comedic and dramatic overtones, style, characters worth caring about, a love story. All the components that would work for a great musical.

I was just saying this a week ago! I would be refreshing to see a fashion musical, I think. I could definitely see songs fitting it with the plot easily. More of a disco/funk/rock score. Can you imagine the song where Miranda tells her off about the belts. Epic hahaha

I would love for Meryl to play it but as far as the Broadway divas go, I think Patti could nail it. Any other suggestions??

Because when I think of a character who is a fashion icon who is a thinly veiled portrait of Anna Wintour Patti LuPone is immediately the first and only person I think of.

There have been fashion musicals in the past--- Roberta, and Coco. And I Can Get It For You Wholesale was about the dress industry. Barbra Streisand was in that one. She could do well in The Devil Wears Prada, which I think could make for a good musical.

Two moments that stick out as songs posts to me are

1. When Christian Thompson and Andy are walking around Paris late at night and Christian is seducing Andy.

2. The scene with Miranda and Andy in the Paris apartment.
