Meh meh.
"It is unclear whether or not Lange will ever return to the show.
Howard Stern Show member Artie Lange walked out on the show today after an argument and the outburst at his personal assistant on the air that followed. "

I heard the audio of the incident. It was pretty rough.
The best part: Robin - "WHAT THE EFF IS GOING ON HERE!?!"

Posted: 4/11/08 at 9:32pmI listen to The Howard Stern Show everyday and was shocked when I heard this incident live yesterday. I will be surprised if they take Artie back after the way he acted and the fact that he said he can't guarantee that it won't happen again. It sucks that they're on vacation next week so we won't know until a week from Monday whether Artie is gone for good or not.

I need to cave and get Sirius already.
Artie was no Jackie, but he grew on me. Is he back on drugs? I thought he got clean.

It's everything. He says he's clean, so it must be his weight that is bringing on the depression, I think. He sits there and eats non-stop during the show. He'll have three or four cupcakes from Crumbs every wednesday. He drinks several cans of Hawaiian Punch during the show every day. He raids the vending machines and gets people to go get him take out. He's well over 300 pounds at this point.
He says he is off the heroin, but he was looking very forward to spending some time alone in Amsterdam this weekend. He's just on a collision course with disaster. Part of me thinks he wants to die young like Farley and Belushi. He jokes about being dead soon all the time.

Wow, Jersey. I hope he can pull himself together.
Is he still with Dana?

One of these times, he's not going to come through it. I see him as having a short life. One too many brushes with death! What a shame.
And I bet he's not off the show. This kind of thing happens all the time on that show and they always come back. It makes for good listening. (show business!)

I will be very surprised if Artie is alive by the end of the year. It is sad and scary that addiction cannot be cured by the love of his mom and his sister and a successful career. He is going to be found dead with a needle in his arm or from a heart attack.
Shame.

I've never actually listened to Stern's show and was not aware of Artie Lange's problems at all. To me, he was just Norm MacDonald's sidekick from the criminally underrated DIRTY WORK. I had no idea he was having such problems. I hope he pulls it together.

I agree fflagg. Artie is on a downward spiral and I think this incident is going to push him over the edge.
The sad thing is that Artie is so talented and very funny. He has added more to the show than Jackie ever could.

Well, that's a matter of opinion. I preferred Jackie any day. I can still hear him because he's somewhat of a regular on another radio show.
Anyway, that's not the point.
I don't listen to Stern anymore, but I certainly put my time in with him in the past. I don't get up early enough to listen to his show and I'm not going to pay to hear the same show with cursing anyway.
I don't think Artie is at the point yet where he's going to do anything for himself. He still seems to think it's funny when he tells the stories of his run-ins.
He's also not yet taking responsibility for his actions when he says things like "so, I'm not responsible, that's me." "I'm wild, I'm crazy", etc. He's still just trying to excuse himself out of doing anything about it. He hasn't grown up yet.

Well the latest is Artie and Teddy did board a flight to Amsterdam together. Maybe they'll talk and work things out over there.
April 12, 2008 -- LOOKS like Howard Stern sidekick Artie Lange made a quick recovery from his outburst on Thursday's show. Lange, who lunged at and threw a cup of water on his assistant Teddy for substituting the word Bloomie's for Bloomingdale's, was spotted boarding a flight for his planned trip to Amsterdam with other Stern show regulars Thursday night. According to one spy, Lange "made eye contact" with Teddy, who was on the same flight, but still kept his distance. Lange flew first class and exited before Teddy, then hopped in a cab and headed to his hotel. His career fate lies in the hands of Sirius satellite honchos, who will decide if he will return to the show.

Posted: 4/12/08 at 11:51amMaybe a weekend of hookers will do him some good. That was his plan. You know, I just don't know. I hope he comes back, but he just keeps pissing people off left and right and I can't really stomach his love of calling people "fags" especially now that it usually accompanies telling them that he hopes they get aids. They should require drug testing and send him to rehab. He fell asleep for like an hour on the show the other day. They were all cackling about it and you could hear him snoring in the mic.

Posted: 4/12/08 at 12:04pmIs George Takei still a part of the show? If so, I'm surprised that he puts up with Artie's homophobia.

I love Howard! I have liked Artie since the Mad-tv days but he is really is starting to piss me off with his homophobic remarks and bully tactics lately.
Like I said, I do love Howard but he did bring it up to stir up trouble and then he's shocked when it goes badly. They all coddle Artie and let him get away with **** that no one else would be allowed to do. Artie needs lots of help... but he makes for great radio
I recommend Sirius to anyone

It is a matter of opinion Jane2. I just prefer Artie over Jackie.
Jackie has his own show on one of Howard's Sirius channels entitled "Jackie's Joke Hunt". I have listened several times and still think Artie is far more talented. It's too bad you are not a listener of Howard on Sirius. I think you would be surprised to find out that it is not just the Howard Stern show with cursing. They are having uncensored adult conversations on a wider range of topics, are getting better, more interesting guests to interview and have superior technology compared to what they had at KROC. As a long time listener, the show has never been better and it's merely not because they can now curse.

Well, pushthe button, I sleep right through the show hours. I don't get up until about 10 am every day. So, even if I did want to add another monthly bill to my life, I wouldn't be able to hear the show. That's ok, I don't miss the show at all. I simply had it with all of Howard's boasting that went on for hours at a time. I also could not listen to any more interviews with strippers. It became a situation where I kept switching the channel away from him.
I listen to Jackie when he's on another AM radio show at night. I'm not an avid fan of him, but he sure can put over a joke. I'm not sure what Artie's talent is.

Posted: 4/14/08 at 9:41pmJane2, don't get Sirius just for Howard, you'll be amazed by the variety of channels, the depth of the playlists, and the lack of commercials. I don't listen to Howard at work, since he's on 24/7 anyway and can just catch up that night or on the weekend, but I still keep it on all the time - it's very hard to go back to regular radio once you get a taste of satellite.
