Had the cancellation line calmed down at all?

I walked down 46th St yesterday around 5pm and saw a few of those covered chairs in line. Are people really lining up more than 24 hours before the show?

Supposedly the line sitters have gotten there 35 hours before a show.

Are the seats still $177, or has the price gone up?

i don't think there is enforcement of the "no swapping" thing - at least there wasn't when I was there on 3/23... and to be fair, it's not just the "line sitters" lining up at 35 hours before the show... when I was there on 3/23, it was civilians (probably spring breakers) that started this trend. Even the pro line sitters were shocked (and slightly horrified) about this.

This my be a really stupid question, but does anyone know if there is any possibility of tickets being returned and then sold for face value on ticket master? Or are those tickets only sold through the cancellation line?

I'm planning on going April 5, 6, 7, or 8 and I'm gonna be alone if anyone is interested in buddying up with me please message me on Twitter or tumblr @ avivcado

I'm not sure how seats owned by the venue could be sold on TM because there's no order which you need to list the tickets. I guess you could list on SH LMS.

Hi, I couldn't figure out how to just post a reply, so I just replied to the last post. I was reading through this thread and it contains so much helpful information (thank you so much). I also read through the Hamilton FAQ thread and that was very helpful, too. I just have a few questions.



I am moving soon, so I only have a few days to see this musical. Since I've finished up my previous job and am waiting to start the other, I have some down time, and seeing this musical would definitely be on top of my list of things to do before I move.



The day I plan on seeing it is a day in which there are two performances. I have a desire to see the evening performance so my friend can join me after she gets out of work. Some questions I have that didn't really jump out at me anywhere in reading through this entire thread:



1.) I understand the cancellation line's only preference comes down to the number of tickets. If I'm close enough in the line and am offered a chance to buy two tickets, am I allowed to ask if it's seats vs standing room? I understand it's just you pay what you're paying (in regard to the normal price tier vs premium) and you're more concerned about the number of tickets vs cost, but am I allowed to ask if it's actually a seat vs standing room and decide if I accept or pass on those tickets based on that? I don't care about paying for premiums, but I would much prefer having a seat in the theatre...



2.) I'm not going to be swapping spots with my friend. I plan to stay in the line the entire time (protein bars haha), and then when my friend gets off work, she'll probably come down to join me in the line so if I'm lucky enough to get tickets she'll be there so we can go right into the theatre if close to showtime. Is this frowned upon? It wouldn't be affecting the amount of tickets I'm requesting, as I'm requesting 2 whether she's next to me or not, but will it cause people to get upset who are waiting behind me?



3.) When looking at the theatre, I'm seeing that the line starts on the left, but then there's posts where it's on the right. Do I just follow suite when I get there?



4.) As I said, I'm planning on getting in line for a day that has two performances with desire to see the evening performance. I don't care about waiting a ridiculous amount of hours in line, but is there a time that's considered too early to get in line for an evening performance? I'm reading that there's already lines forming at 11 PM the night before, but that could all be for the matinee performance. Just curious for any insight. I understand it may very be close to a 20 hour wait, and I don't care about that, but I just don't want to upset people in the line.



I think that's all I have to ask. I've been watching stubhub the past few days too and it's great to know that the Marriott has a public printing station and it doesn't take too long to print something from it. Seems the prices come down to a more "reasonable" amount to pay for a bucketlist experience before I move, though those few minutes to sprint to Marriott, print, and spring back to the theatre would be very stressful. Thanks!

I only know of the FedEx Kinkos at the Marriott's 8th floor that does close at 7pm. Not good for 8pm performance nights. There are computers in front of the guest check-in desks that have signage that reads "Print your boarding passes here". I'm sure that's for guest use and not the general Hamilton public. Don't need anything else upsetting the Marriott with us line people. Maybe an employee will be kind enough to allow the use of it. There's also StubHub on 40th between 5th and 6th. Located in the lower level of the Courtyard Marriott. They print both instant download and pick up only tickets. It's a 15 min walk from the theater. Great if you get a $400 orchestra seat at 6:30pm or 7:30pm. Some nights I have watched Stubhub and seen tickets drop this much.

I didn't get a ticket when I did the 17 hrs on line. I was on line for two, me and my husband. He joined me on the line at 6:00pm after he got off work. No one was upset because I was there alone for 2 tickets. So my second was joining me. It would be a different story if I was there for 2 tickets and my husband joins the line for another 2 tickets, totaling 4 for us. That's line cutting and punishable by a beat down! LOL!

Good suggestion to have your friend at a printing station! This way you work as a team.

Last night I passed the theater on my way to another show and the cancellation line was to the left but practically on the curb! Guess no blocking of the garage at the Marriott.

There's a Staples with computers/printers you can use at 8th and 47th, just around the corner from the Richard Rodgers. It's open until 8pm on weeknights. I've used it to print boarding passes many times.

Yes you can pass on standing room lol They will tell you what the ticket type is before you buy and you can pass if you want to.



Also is it safe, well thats entirely up to you! If you are smart then its fine, make friends with the people around you so you can take toilet breaks etc but so long as youre not sat there for 24 hours without food/drink/warm clothes then you should be fine.
