You know what I think might be cool, broken lizard, if you made a book for the fans. You know, like a fan book, with fan input, quotes, anecdotal stories et. Maybe even somehow you can get to interview the actors, with the questions we want to hear, not some journalists who doesn't know what she is talking about. I know that if you were to sell it online or something, I would buy it!

Arghh! Grammar pet peeve #1: your vs you're. "Your" is a possessive pronoun. "You're" is the contraction of "you are." <<

Hmm...I hadn't thought of that

I'm not sure I could though. Wouldn't I have to get permission to use all the pictures (I Mean the ones of the Boys, not so much ones fans send in)?

I'm sure the boys would let me e-mail them, that wouldn't be a problem. Hmm..Anybody else have ideas? Let me know, cause I kind of like where this is headed.

I dunno if you'd be able to sell a fan book - I think it's basically the same thing as a "Hairspray: The Roots" or "The Grimmerie" type book.

Maybe, if you were to do that, you'd just sell the book to the fans for a certain price, and not make it an eBay thing, and the profits go to the cast's favorite charity or something?

Still though, would I have to get permission to use the pictures?

We're kind of taking this thread OT, anybody else have any good Jersey Boys quotes?

And pop_elphie, as of right now, I am still planning on doing the book for the cast. So if anybody has any Jersey Boys related fan art, pictures, stories, or letters to the cast they'd like me to include, please PM me. Thanks!

BrokenLizard, I'll work on a graphic now to send :).

Getting back on topic:
Tommy: "Of course, certain individuals aren't crazy about living in a state where you have to drive through a landfill, next to a dump, next to a turnpike to cheer for a team that's from New York, anyway!"

All the big musicals have a book. I hope they do the same for JB! And maybe even a recording dvd like the Producers?!! They had footage of the recording session on that special Hooray For Broadway.

The quote with Bobby talking about his kids being raised thinking that he was their uncle is too long for me to remember.

It prob goes something like "ya wanna hear something [f**ked up]. me and my wife were having some problems so i arranged it so that my kids grew up thinking i was their uncle. nice, huh? *something?* you sell 100 million records, see how you handle it." I know there's another part in there about him wanting to be free to party or something and the cocktail napkins but i can't put it together.

Thanks to brokenlizard for starting this thread!! You brightened up my day! I think this should turn into a JB love thread. There was one but it died. <3JERSEY BOYS<3

The cocktail napkin one isn't actually in the show.

The one about his kids goes like this:
"People say, 'You put in all that time, you got a string of hits, the money's rollin' in - and that's when you tell 'em "I don't wanna be in the group anymore?" That's crazy!'

Lemme tell you about crazy. After I got married, my wife and I had a few problems, and our kids wound up living with some relatives. I wanted to be free (I think he says free) to screw around, so I arranged it so my kids, my own kids thought I was their uncle. Uncle Nick. I figured that way, they wouldn't be deprived of a father. Not bad, huh?

What I'm saying is that none of us were saints. You sell 100 million records, see how you handle it."

re: Jersey Boys quote questions.

Thanks Popular_Elphie and Broadway Betty.

I know Jersey Boys is getting tons good reviews, I was surprised it wasn't getting much love on the boards. lol

Broadway Betty, anything you think you want to include for the book?

I made these graphics a while ago for my LJ. Might as well show them to you guys. If you'd like to use them, feel free.

Thank you pop_elphie. I think what he says in the show is better than the cocktail napkin thing. It really shows how far they went. It's kind of sad though, that his own kids thought he was their uncle. I wonder when they found out he was their dad. (If they found out)

LOL, it's actually, "Bobby, this is the MUSIC business - these guys don't have mothers."

Which reminds me of one of my favorite parts:
"... You start a little movement. Word gets out, stations start getting calls: 'Where's that song? We wanna hear that song! What's wrong with you people??!?! Play the f*cking song already!'"

popular_elphie: I love that part. Last time I saw the show (about 2 weeks ago) when he said that line, he spit so much on Daniel that they both started cracking up and the audience went wild. Such a great audience that night.

I love the part at the end of the show where Nick is doing his final monolouge and he remarks one last time about wanting to start a band of his own. Exact quote anyone?

Most of them have been touched upon now and then on the thread. I think I love Tommys the best. I love when he says that he works for Pesci and Christian does his imitation of him. PRICELESS. Plus the Belleville NJ Man of the Year 2002 is one of the best lines in the whole show!

Yeah, I know they've been touched upon. I was just hoping to include all four (the entire things) in my scrapbook, in the JB part (obviously). I only just got through Wicked...ok...I only saw Wicked in Chicago, but I figured I'd include it in the scrapbook anyways. lol

Aww. I love scrapbooks. I am so NOT crafty though. I was in a sorority and the one thing a big sister gives her little sister is a scrapbook from her pledging days. Four years later, my lil sis still doesn't have one re: Jersey Boys quote questions.

lol. Well, I made a scrapbook once for my trip to DC about...I think 6 years ago. While I was showing my dad all my pictures and the ticket stubs, and the brochures I grabbed while in NYC he said "Too bad you don't still scrapbook, you got a lot of good stuff."

So I figured I'd give it a shot. lol

So how about it, does anybody know Tommy, Frankie, and Bob's final thoughts at the end of the show? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks guys!

Tommy: "You know what I do now? I work for Pesci. Yeah, little Joey Fishes, the same kid I used to slap around. A couple of months ago, I was driving him somewhere and he says, 'Hey, Tommy, lemme ask you a question - how do you remember yourself back then?' and I says, 'I think I was a pretty stand up guy.' And he says, 'I gotta be honest with you. You were a total prick. Nobody would've put up with your sh** except we all needed something. Everybody remembers it how they need to, right? But here's the facts: I brought Frankie up on stage for the first time, I brought Gaudio in, I held it all together until we hit. And where it counts - the old neighborhood, I'm still a hero. They even named me Belville New Jersey Man of the Year 2002! By the way - you're ever in Vegas, walk into any casino and say 'Tommy Devito'. My hand to God, you'll be outta there in about 12 seconds."

Bobby: "I'm not drawn to the old neighborhood, my life never revolved around the old neighborhood, I don't give a f*ck about the old neighborhood. I'm from wherever I happen to be - these days that's Nashville, Tennessee, where I can be found most afternoons on my new boat. (something) Cruiser, 40 foot, nice even keel. That's my life, straight up. I'm still partners with Frankie - he's done his thing, I've done mine. But we always meet up in the end, and it's all been on a handshake from 40 years ago. I'm uncomfortable in the spotlight. These other guys...very dramatic. I may be the only Italian out of 100 that's not into the drama. Don't have that kinda ego. I'm happy just spending the afternoon on the river - just me, my beautiful wife, and (I think he says big sky?).Quiet and peaceful in the knowledge that none of this could've happened ..without ME."

Nick's has basically been said - he talks about how the group still had a pull over him, and how he didn't mean to quit, but once he said it, he knew it was what he wanted. He says he needed to be home with the family. I'll post it word for word if needed.

Frankie: "I never made it to Tommy's party. I got to the door a few times, but I couldn't go in. I dunno, maybe Nicky looked at me funny, like I was too special or something. Nicky and that mind of his, who knows? And now he's gone, God rest him. He died Christmas Eve, 2000. I mean, for a Catholic, is that style, or what?

They ask you - what was the high point? The hall of fame, selling all those records, pulling Sherry out of a hat - it was all great. But four guys under a streetlamp, when it was all still ahead of us - the first time we made that sound, our sound - that was the best. That's why I'm still out there singing. Like the bunny on TV with the battery - I just keep going and going and going. Chasing the music, trying to get home."
