There are two parts in the show that I'm trying so hard to remember and just can't.
Both quotes were by Nick Massi (J. Robert Spencer), so if anybody could help me out I'd really appreciate it.
I'm trying to remember, first of all, his rant. When he goes off on Tommy. Something about staying in the hotel rooms with him and Tommy always using all the towels.
The other one I'm trying to remember...lol...the only part of it I can remember is "And the third thing? Every guy knows that." What came before that though? lol
Thanks alot!
I think the "And the third thing" bit was when he was talking about the "old neighborhood." My mind is blank as to what exactly he said about it, though. I'll think on that.
Thanks! I remember that I loved both of those lines, but for the life of me I can't remember how they go. lol
I think that before the "third thing" part, he said something about never lying to your mother or telling the truth to your wife.
I love that quote with the towels!! when he says 'the man is not properly socialized' I crack up.
Can somebody help me remember the "old neighborhood" bit?
"I was never drawn to the old neighborhood. My life never revolved around the old neighborhod. I could give a **** about the old neighborhood."
Haha thanks.
wait...so what was the whole towel quote?
I just remember him saying something about how Tommy has to use every towel at the hotels. Something about "those little hand towels." I just remember I was cracking up.
And actually the whole "I could give a **** about the old neighborhood." quote is by Daniel Reichard (Bob Gaudio).
Billboard girl, THANK YOU! That's it.
1) Never lie to your mother
2) Never tell the truth to your wife
And the third thing? Every guy knows that.
But what were they? lol. Was it just the three things you never do or something?
The towels rant is this:
"You wanna talk about towels? The man cannot be in a hotel without using all the towels. I'm talking face towels, bath towels, mats, the little washcloths - it's like he's living alone! You need a towel, you know where it is? In a wet pile on the floor."
The three things is after Tommy flirts with the reporter.
Nick: "In my neighborhood, there's three things you don't do. You don't lie to your mother, you don't tell the truth to your wife, and the third thing - every guy knows that!"
Frankie: "He hit on you???"
Reporter: "Only, like, with a sledgehammer!"
thank you popular_elphie! That was great! Anymore funny Jersey quotes to write?
Well, I have two favorite parts. The first is when Nick takes his girlfriend and Frankie to the church to sing.
Date: "Nicky, for God sakes, what're we doin' here? I thought we were going to the movies!"
Nick: "Relax, will you?"
Date: "But I wanna see The Blob!"
------
Date: "Goodnight, Nicky. At least now I know where your hands are gonna be."
And when Frankie has dinner with Mary.
Frankie: "That's why I changed it - Vally, V-A-L-L-Y."
Mary: "NO! V-A-L-L-I."
Frankie: "How come?"
Mary: "Because 'y' is a bull**** letter. It doesn't know what it is - is it a vowel, is it a consonant?"
Frankie: "I never thought about it!"
Mary: "Plus which, you're Italian - you've gotta end in a vowel. Delgad-o, Castelucci-o, pizz-a, and Vall-i WITH an I. It says, 'This is who I am. You don't like it? Then go f*ck yourself."
:)
That is my favorite part.
Don't forget in the same scene with the towels when it is revealed that Tommy peed in the sink because it was "closer."
Also the good old "Ringo" line at the end.
I love when Crewe and Gaudio are first introduced to each other.
Crewe: "All my body parts are outstanding young man. Young, young, young man..."
Crewe: "Let me guess, Scorpio?"
Gaudio: "No, Gaudio."
Ahh I love this thread...lemme think of some more JB goodness!!
haha- This is making my night reading these all! My favorite part is an action, hwen Tommy and Frankie are talking over the debt and Nick slams his head down on the rable. It reminds me of the good ol' BWW *HEADDESK*
What about at the end during the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction?
Bob:"You guys are sharing a room?"
Tommy:"Yeah...he brought his own towels."
lol. I love the smile on J. Robert's face when Christian says that.
How exactly does the Ringo line go? I remember it being there, but not when.
Any other good quotes?
Another one I love is when Nick says he's leaving the group and Bob gets upset.
Nick:"Ah, recognition. Hi Bobby." lol
"But when there's four guys in a group....and you're Ringo...." I love Bobby Spencer!!!!!!!
And Gaudio at the end, "...none of the would have happened...without me!!"
I love when they finally decide on a name and JLY is like, "look, Tommy, its a sign!!"
lol. John sounded so....innocent...when he said that. It was adorable. I love Bob. Anybody got any other good Bob lines. I'll take more of any of the guys though. They're all great.
And on a more serious note, by far John's best acting comes when he finds out about his daughter, right before singing Fallen Angel. Just incredible.
Haha- During the "It's a sign part", I was at the back half of the mez and someone sitting a row or two back from me made the joke of "Hey look, it's a sign," before the words came out of Daniel's mouth. Everyone in the mez laughed throughly when it did though.
Any others? Christian had some good ones that I....just can't remember.
What about any of the other characters?
I know Tommy had some funny lines with Joe Pesci, if anyone can remember any of those.
This thread is making my night!!
...mini threadjack... how many times have you all seen this show? and have you met the boys?
I love hearing peoples stories about Jersey Boys.
hmmmm....Well, it's not with Joe but I love before "Walk Like A Man" where Tommy questions the meaning of the song. I don't remember exactly, just his quote, "Walk Like A Man?!?!"
"Walk...like a man? As opposed to what...a woman?"
"Its a metaphor!!!"
"And he writes songs! Helikesshortshortsshelikesshortshortswelikeshortshorts..." - I just love Michael when he says that line. And when Tommy is always doing the card trick and he's like "gooood".
