Oh, I like your Gypsy - The strips would be very jingly with those coins. Lovely.
musicaltheatrefan3,
I reported your avatar to the publicity department of WICKED. It's a clear violation of a copyrighted photo that has been used on "other websites"
I'm rubber, you're glue. Whatever you say bounces off me and sticks on to you!

I don't know what on earth possessed me to pop in on the main board today, but I'm glad I did. Those pics are priceless, Phyll.
MTF3 you are getting farther & farther away from getting off the list.

Michael Cole has been Stephen Schwartz's personal assistant since 1993.
I always send him information on illegal productions of "Wicked", and he always says thanks.
"Just so everyone knows where to go if they find out about an illegal production, I know some places to go to for certain shows
Hairspray - I tell Marc Shaiman
Wicked - Michael Cole (Stephen Schwartz's assistant)
Any of the Disney shows - I report to Disney
I don't know about any other places. Phyllis Rogers Stone, you should have reported that illegal production. You were ripping Stephen Schwartz off. He worked very hard to make "Wicked" a great show, and he actually does make some money from the productions around the world, but he loses money when some people who are stupid decide to go and break the law and do an illegal production."
How exactly do you find out about these "illegal productions"? Is that what you do when your not in school? Are you expecting money or something?
And how exactly does he lose money when someone puts on an illegal production? Because he isn't making it? That doesn't make sense.
I guess you could call it a "hobby". I go on YouTube, and I search sometimes for hours, I search "Wicked (or whatever show I'm looking for" high school, school, mexico (very common place for these)" or I go on a Message Board and search with those terms, or I just Google. Then, I go to whoever handles that show and report it. It makes me feel good to know that I am helping the art of musical theatre.
I would never have anything to do with producing an illegal production. I have reported friends' (well, ex-friends now) productions. I just don't think that it is right.

"Is anyone else staring at the screen in disbelief?"
*raises hand*
MTF3, isn't that a little excessive? Haven't the productions already happened, what's the point after the fact?

Maybe someday they'll let you play Elphie as a way of saying thank you!
I am not a racist. I have found 8 different illegal productions in Mexico. They seem to be more common there. I have also reported ones from Peru, Brazil, Israel, and the United States. I don't think illegal productions are ever okay.
Michael says that he just forwards them to the legal team, and then they take care of it. It makes me feel so good inside.

There's no way you're actually serious....
...I think
Why wouldn't I be serious? I feel that if I can't raise money for Broadway shows everyday, this is very close (because I'm helping Broadway shows and all) so everyone should help. I don't know why everyone doesn't do this.

Because they have better things to do?

I'm getting a strange feeling of deja vu here...

How does it help "raise money" or help the economic situation at all? You've yet to answer that.

Musicaltheatrefan3...trust me when I tell you...Michael Cole is just amazed that you have figured out how to type with a straight-jacket on.
Seriously, I have not said anything here at all yet, but if you have time to check youtube for illegal performances of Broadway shows, you have problems. I understand that there are shows where the rights are not available yet. However, do you even know besides that, what these productions are? For all you know these people are not doing it for profit, which in itself is not illegal, as far as I know. Or again, if someone wants to have fun on their porch singing the songs, and putting them on youtube, then let them be. Again, it is only illegal if they are making a profit off of it.

Well, no. That's not true at all. But it's not the point.
I wish Mst3kwhatever would update the Mamma Mia!TM International Tour thread!
I will, when new stops are announced.
Shut the hell up and just go away.
Is this thread more fun or less fun with people taking it seriously?
I can't decide.
