"I could see 'Raise You Up' working very, very well for the parade. Even if the cast just wears jeans and show logo shirts. The energy is so high when that song is live, plus it works well out of context. "
I did a video posted by someone in the KB cast about kindergarten class singing it at their graduation..and then came to the show to sing it on stage. So yes it certainly could work in that way. Whether or not it really represents the show by performing out of costume - not sure.
And yes of course, it's a commercial - family friendly only comes into mind IMO if they feel the performance will help the show, it will probably do it. But not all publicity works so I think that's more the decision.

"I can remember when the revival of Cabaret performed a number for the parade. The commentators made a big deal out of the fact they had to heavily clean up the song/choreography for the kid-friendly audience. Also, the Chicago revival performed and THAT's certainly not a kids show."
Hell, Thou Shalt Not did Take Her To The Mardi Gras!
I Hope Cinderella doesn't do the same Medley they seem to do quite a lot. Is it common for shows to perform more than one year at the Parade?
Called it! Right down to the number. So excited!
