Hey, I am in need of ideas for a song I can sing in the talent portion of a pageant!! I am a college student, classically trained soprano but I have a strong chest/lower voice as well. In the past I have sang selections from Phantom of the Opera. I am growing tired of them and I think they are a bit over used as well.
I'm not sure where to begin to look but do y'all know of any ballad type songs out there that have a good or inspirational message that would stand out in a competition? Please let me know what you think! Thank you :)
"The Beauty Is" or the title song from Light in the Piazza might be great for your voice!

If you'd like a song that no one knows, look into "Chain of Love" from "The Grass Harp" by Claibe Richardson. Glorious!
This might be the best Broadway song ever done in a pageant.

I agree with "The Beauty Is" from THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA. Extra points for taste in sophistication of selection!
