Also, why is LightsOut90 acting like Lea Salonga/Joanna Ampil/Shanice/etc.'s Eponines never happened, Melba Moore's Fantine never happened, Edward Baruwa/Shaun Escoffery's Enjolras never happened, etc...? (Yes, I'm purposely naming people from productions well before this one.)

Call_me_jorge, Nathaniel Hackmann kind of was, so I'm guessing Kyle is too.

"I made an all-black cast of WSS work"

What an interesting idea.  I've never thought of doing something like that, but it sounds like it could be really intriguing. I'd love to hear more if you have the time.

Has anyone seen him?  Why is a 21 year old playing Valjean?  How young was the youngest before him?

Probably John Owen-Jones, who was the alternate (?) at 23 many years ago.

Oh wow, thanks Lizzie!  Guess his age isn't that unusual.  Just seems young to me.

You're welcome! It's unusual enough; even Ramin was on the young side for Valjean when he started.

i just feel like, wouldn't it be nice to push for more original organic work for diverse performers?

Yes... but what's wrong with "diverse performers" as you're putting it playing established, beloved roles? There will always be more original work being created for people of all backgrounds, but if you grew up loving a role, wouldn't you want to play that role regardless of race or any other differences you have between you as a person and the character?

And don't let those "diverse" performers steal any more white roles in the meantime!

Yeah, how DARE they invade established spaces they've historically been excluded from.
