The Bodyguard musical is making it's American debut starting November 25th and ending January 1st. Could the production transfer if it is well received ?? Seems like Papermill musicals are easy transfers to Broadway. I'd love to see it.

Right now it's planned to tour until August 2017.

Papermill's plan is to tour the show for about a year to 18 months, then transfer it to Broadway. So maybe Spring 2018?

The tour itinerary is roughly 18 months. The plan is to then go to Broadway with it, but that was also the plan with "Flashdance." Nothing is guaranteed.

Yes, the plan (from what I've heard) is to bring it to Broadway following the tour.

The West End production is coming to Toronto for a few months in the Spring. Anyone know what happens to it after the Toronto run?

I am going on December 4th! I am very excited as I am a huge fan of Deborah Cox. I also love the UK tour cast album they released.

I read rumours and innuendo that Heather Headley's contract to originate the role in the West End contained some clause requiring the producers to have her star in any Broadway production, if presented within some period of time. From there - the rumours were that the producers did not want to have Headley and so any Broadway transfer had to be put on hold. I have no independent knowledge of truth of these rumours.

Is the Toronto version different from The Papermill version?

The 14 week Toronto run is a direct transfer of the West End version, including the British cast starring Beverley Knight.

But physically is it the same show? It's the same director, yes? I guess we won't know if the Papermill production has any changes until it starts.
