I hesitated to put the Into the Woods Prologue on my list because, to me, it doesn't feel like a traditional opening number but more of a "part 1" to the larger story, if that makes any sense...it's why I didn't include the Carousel Waltz either...

"Good Morning, Good Day" perfectly and efficiently sets up the world and characters of She Loves Me. It's a master class in opening-number writing.

From LaChiusa's The Wild Party: "Queenie Was a Blonde" and the opening sequence through "Wild Party" is absolutely stunning.
