Question for those that seen it on Broadway. I just saw it on tour. On Broadway, I thought they brought out a device that was described as the "Chokey" It had wooden spikes and purportedly closed on the children. On tour, they only referred to it, but it was never brought on stage. Just wonder if they did in fact bring the Chokey on stage, or did I simply imagine it based upon the description.
As noted above, there was no physical "Chokey" device in the Broadway production, but there was a rather elaborate display of green lasers that were projected all around the theatre to suggest a sort of "virtual" cage (as least that's what I got out of it). It was a surprisingly non-literal concept for a show that was otherwise presented with mostly physical sets and props.

That did remain in the tour. Seems like Broadway show remained intact for the most part.
