Brittany Wants to Get "Wicked"- Page 3

So far none of you panseys have come up with ANY reasons why Britany could or should not be in Wicked.

Do you people realize that she was ON TV? Does the Mickey Mouse Club mean anything thing to you people. She won an EMMY for that show people.

Give me one good valid reason why she can be Effiealba?

One-She can't act.
NOw as much as I love WICKED, I am willing to admit that it isn't the best show out there. I am a fan of it because it is my ULTIMATE guilty pleasure show. And it isn't a bad show, it's very entertaining when looking at it from a quality angle. But compare it to FOLLIES or CAROUSEL and it withers in comparison. HOwever, despite a mediocre book, the show DOES call for someone who can act to support it. If yo uwatch Britney's performance in "Crossroads" she makes one face the entire time and her crying scene is extremely forced.
Two-Her range
Some argue that Ms. Spears can sing, others can't. If you listen to her in "Mickey Mouse Club" she most definately can, when she's in her range. But listening to her now all I hear is two or three notes and a computer. She is a PERFORMER. I could never imagine her singing any of Christina Aguilera's songs (who everyone agrees is extremely gifted. She actually could sing some songs of Elphaba's) But her singing "defying Gravity" is Madonna's rendition of "A NEw Argentina" in EVITA. Though I thought Madonna did more than a decent job with EVITA, she could not handle every song.
Three-She is promoting herself for a movie that hasn't been announced to be made yet.
I told you again Tuttle, show me articles from the following: ew.com, ny times, ny post, wall street journal, playbill, or broaday.com and I will believe that there is a movie coming out and then I will think of casting or start a thread about it. Until then your making an arguement over something that there shouldn't be.

Where's the proof? "The Insider"..hello! They wouldn't report rumors. It's tv for gosh sakers. Have some respect!

One..Britany can sign. She no Tiffany, but then, who is?

Two..she can act. Did you see the skit on the Mickey Mouse Club when she played a carrot stick?

Three..there is no three. Idina is a has been. Rent will bomb. She'll be on Steve Harvey's Big Time in no time.

Well I will admit that I do like Britney. And you are all right when you say she is a performer. Now don't shoot me for saying this but if they truely were considering her for a part in the movie, then I would say give her a short run on broadway, see how the public reacts to her. as much as I love her she is definitely not my first choice for Elphie....LONG LIVE IDINA!!! I'd actually like to see Jena Malone in the Role (saved) Though I have no idea if she can sing.

Jenna Malone seems a little too young. Not Saying i want a thirty year old to play it, but she just looks like she's fifteen. HOwever, I'm a fan of hers and if she could sing the role I could see it. Loved her in STEPMOM.

I used to get annoyed when people did it but now I am so used to it and I agree. Learn how to spell. And use proper grammer. It's irritating to read all the mis-spelled words. I'm a sucky speller, but at least...read what you write. Effiealba...I'm guessing it should be Elphaba?

I like Britney a lot (in fact, I had an obsession over her for about 5 years-since BOMT), but I honestly don't think she could pull off the role of ELPHABA. That's ridiculous-I think she could be Glinda. She'd make an awesome Glinda in my opinion. If she took some voice lessons, she could be incredible-but I don't see Britney being much of a belter. She most definitely can act-if you watched SNL the last time or 2 she hosted, and I think she can do pretty well. I wouldn't shoot her down just yet...

I agree with parks...Britney for glinda....(see my post in ultimit wicked cast) <---and yes I think thats how ultimate is spelled on the thread. I also said britney could be Glinda with some voice training.

What the hell? When did SO many of you here become THE acting specialist? The singing specialist? It is so stupid to diss people who HAVE a career. Clearly Britney has something that alot of people don't have..T.A.L.E.N.T. Like it or not she does. Who gives a flying fk if you thinks she's a ho or you hate her "voice". Are you on the cover of mags? NO. So glad BW has turned into the 8th grade lunch room.

You guys are all making a big deal out of nothing. tuttle-if you saw it on the insider, thanwe believe you. However, usually when a movie for something as big as Wicked is announced, it would be all over the internet, newspapers, and on more than one TV show. Also, millions of Wicked fans would have already started a thread for it...so lets not get to riled up here.
On the Britney matter, I think some of us will just have to agree to disagree. Britney is a very good promoter, I'll give her that, but I stand with the majority here that *if* (notice the if) i repeat IF there even IS a movie version in the near furture, I do believe that the main roles may go to someone a bit more...reliable when it comes to movie fans.
Britney may WANT to do the movie, but then again, I want to get an A in honors algebra, but tain't going to happen as of now.

I think a lot of people are confusing something she only WANTS to do with something she actually WILL do.

I think it would be really cool if they cast someone new...someone no one knows...let them cast stars in the supporting roles, but like a "star-turn" kind of thing would be nice

What good would boycotting the movie do? It's not like on stage where they can put somebody else in... I don't know if I'd be to thrilled with Britney as Elphaba-and it'd probably make me not want to see the movie as much.
