I think Sara is beautiful on that show. She's a normal woman, and that's what I like best about her. She works out with George, when he slams her up against the wall and says 'Don't fight me.' He cares for her.. and they're sweet.
So what's the big deal? I'm a chunky, 5'9 girl who totally respects her.
I love that she isn't skinny. It's so superficial to dislike her just because she has curves. She may look chunky, but that's only because we're used to seeing blonde waifs like Ellen Pompeo... who IS beautiful, but very very thin.
And my friends and I are all terribly jealous of Sara's hair. It's so beautiful... I would kill for hair like that. My hair is straight as an arrow!

i think she looks beautiful. i had only seen her in the season finale where she did seem too overpowering for him but there is a clip of her and george on youtube that is the most adorable thing i've ever seen. i'll post the link if i find it again.
She's actually very beautiful and not THAT big. Remember this is post David E. Kelly Hollywood, where an actor over 105 pounds is told she is fat. I'm serious. I'm not lean, and out here I feel like a balloon in a needle factory.
Actually Sara was in the drama division at Juiliard. I saw an interview where she said she was more confident in her singing than acting so she decided to go to focus on her acting so she chose Juiliard figuring it would be like acting bootcamp. I saw pics of the cast at the Upfronts and Ellen does look very skinny so of course Sara will look bigger next to those actors. I wasn't crazy about the "prom" dress they chose for her either.
In a world where Nicole Ritchie, Lindsay Lohan and their ilk grace magazine covers, is it any wonder that a woman with genuine curves meets with so much derision? American girls in general have a sick sense of body image. I think it's great to have a positive role model out there like Ramirez. She looks GREAT!

frontrow, you must be very young........thank God they are casting diverse types on TV now.....some of us grew up thinking everyone was perfect like Betty Anderson, June Cleaver, and Donna Stone.
When girls stop falling for the "perfect" look, which ends up really looking anorexic, we will have happier women.
I love Sara in the show.....her character bothers me though....needy, and she seems confused....I would not want to be this characters friend...
It is ridiculous to set a detective story in New York City. New York City is itself a detective story...

Sara is doing a great job on Grey's! I don't know if I like her w/ George b/c he's kind of afraid to stand up for her but I guess we'll see how that can change by next season.

Look, the fact is Ramirez is a big girl. She was big in Fascinating Rhythm, bigger in Spamalot. On Broadway, it's far more acceptable to be over a size 6 and still work, however, it's not the norm on T.V. and most likely, never will be. I'm saddened, but hardly *surprised* that the Grey's message boards are mentioning it. It's visual conditioning. Does it make her any less talented, no and that's ALL anyone should be focusing on. For the record, I think Ellen Pompeo looks ill.
Yeah, when I first saw Sara on Grey's...I was like "is that her?" I love the show and I love her in it! I'm glad that she's able to expand her career, though I love her on stage. I hope she gets to show off that voice of hers more. Funny... my friends thought I was weird when I freaked out that it was Sara. They were like..."who's that?" Oh well. LOL! :)
