My friends and I were playing this game the other night trying to go around the circle saying your favorite line from a show. If you could not think of one on your turn, you were out. (Lame, I know. Again, I ask, how gay AM I?)

All I have to do is find this Libra man.

Valjean says to the Innkeeper:
I will pay in advance...

And the Innkeeper gives him a choice:

You leave my house!
Or feel the weight of my rod.

p.s. But then, without having time to choose,
Valjean is thrown out of the inn.

What kind of world do we live in where we can't discuss the similarities between pornography and the Musical Theatre.

"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

If you took the “W” from who, the “H” from ghost, the extra “A” from aardvark, and the “T” from tsunami, you could say “WHAT?” forever and nobody could ever hear you because it’s all silent.

Little Edie: I came down here to take care of my dying mother.
Big Edie: I never asked you, I ...
Little Edie: Then she pulled a fast one on me. She kept right on breathing.

Jelly...its all in the delivery! Classic line! There are so many right now (majority of them from Grey Gardens) but my favorite is the Man in Chair's little monologue at the end of the show.

Most of my favorites are from Grey Gardens too! I think I'm in love with everything that comes out of Little Edie's mouth; everything she says is just so quotable.

Grey Gardens:

"You are singing it all wrong...Very ugly."

Company:

"You're weak. I hate weak people."

...What happened next, was stranger still, a woman breathless and afraid, appeared out of the night, completely dressed in white. She had a secret she would tell, of one who had mistreated her. Her face and frightened gaze, my mind cannot erase...But then she ran from view. She looked so much like you...

Okay this is a long story but it's worth it...

So I take my mom to SPELLING BEE and my mom luckily gets selected to compete. She gets up onstage wearing an obnoxious sweet sweater - and she looks like well - a typical soccer mom. She is speller # 2 and is introduced by Rona Perreti like this, "An aspiring fashion designer, Mrs. Smith wore this outfit the night she was voted off Project Runway!" and of course the whole audience cracked up. Needless to say - my mom never wore that outfit again. Best line ever!

"If you took the “W” from who, the “H” from ghost, the extra “A” from aardvark, and the “T” from tsunami, you could say “WHAT?” forever and nobody could ever hear you because it’s all silent."

That's one of my favorites too! She used different words when I saw it though. It was the W in answer and the T in listen.

And even though it closed...
"Oh my god, the whole thing turns."
