From the results so far, it seems we know what's going to win Best Musical already.

And true, VIET. But I kinda expected that.

Yes, and I do agree that SA probably was the best of the very small crop this year - but they've won a few too many awards here that just arent deserved. Especially John G. Jr. And while some scream about its lighting, I much perfered the lighting in LOVEMUSIK. Oh well...to each their own!

I agree with the sentiment about John Gallagher, Jr's performance being terribly overrated. Not award worthy in my eyes.

But Julie White over Eve Best? Ummm...absolutely. White's power on that stage was absolutely incredible. She delivered a Mama Rose level performance without having to sing a note. She was utterly fabulous.

Well...i can sure tell the way this board sways with some of these winners (and the fact the some interesting nominations were even left off.)

But, MUNK - you said there may be a lot of ties earlier today, and it looks like we only ended up with one tie. Can you tell us which categories were close and who the runner ups were in the close calls?

Thanks for doing this!

I believe Yankee is referring to the fact the SA won almost every musical award.

Not sure how SA won EVERY musical award.
I gave book to Grey Gardens
Scenic design to Poppins
Choreography to Curtains.

Why do people have such an issue with SAfans?
I just don't get it

sciguy, I never said Spring Awakening won every award. I said they won almost every award, which they did.

Thanks for the statistics, munk.

and another thing...(commences whining....)

Obviously many people felt that John Gallagher Jr. did give the best performance as a featured actor in a musical season. As another poster said "to each his own" why all the bashing?

How is voting for these awards "not shutting up"?
BTW I am 45 years old and far from a Wicked fan.

Funny, I don't actually recall making my post personal to you - never did I ask your age, never did I ask if you were a fan of either show, and never did I say or even imply that voting was "not shutting up."

Your question:
"Why do people have such an issue with SAfans? I just don't get it."

My response:
"Same reason why people take issue with WICKED fans...'Cause they don't shut up."

If further clarification is necessary, I'll be glad to respond.
