What does everyone think of the Tony Preview Concert that will featured performances by the 12 eligible musicals from this season? Also, what other musical is ineligible (Grinch is one)? I'm assuming Grease, but I thought it wasn't getting nominations because it sucked. Also, what do you all think each show will perform?
1. Xanadu 2. Grease 3. Young Frankenstein 4. The Little Mermaid 5. Sunday in the Park with George 6. Passing Strange 7. In the Heights 8. Gypsy 9. South Pacific 10.A Catered Affair 11.Cry-Baby 12.Glory Days
Is the concert only being Broadcast in the NY area? If so, I really don't see why CBS is taking the time to do this. It seems that maybe they are doing it to boost ratings. If so, I would think they might want to make it a primetime special to get people across the country to watch the awards. Just my thoughts.
It is being taped on May 11 but is being aired on June 7 on CBS here in NYC and between May 26 and June 7 on CBS and O&O. You will have to check your local tv listings.
OR WHEN IT WILL BE SHOWN IN WASHINGTON DC? and is there a link to when they will be playing around the country?
"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."
