Vanities still hasn't announced a theater or other such information. I'm wondering just how wise it is to bring a 3-person chamber musical to Broadway in these times. I'd not be shocked at all if it doesn't come, which would free van der Pol.

I too am wondering why Wicked would think they would need to "stunt cast" at this point though.

I too would love to see Kate Shindle in this role!!! She would be a dream Elphaba!

By the way, re: Vanities, I don't know of I agree. Seems like only a few weeks ago people were doubting how wise it was to bring a 3 character 3-set David Mamet revival to Broadway these days, and from the reviews this morning it looks like they're doing alright and have tapped into something. I havent seen the musical but based on the original play I think Vanities (sadly) might be every bit as relevant as Speed the Plow "in these times."

Eden Riegel?

Not an Elphie IMO - but she's a TV actress with one Broadway credit. She's also back on the East Coast now.....

Any word on the temp. Fiyero coming in while Aaron is away doing Next to Normal? I believe it's someone who has already done the role before.

I was hoping David Burnham would come back. I miss him re: New Elphaba?. I saw him 16 times and I didn't like him at first but he really grew on me towards the end. He got to know me at SD and greeted me with a hug the last few times I saw him.

Ok.... my money is Anne Hathaway with Katie Holmes as the runner up bet. Anne's done a reading in the past 2 weeks and has only been on Broadway once. She's mostly done movies verses tv, but still a strong voice and actor.

Anne Hathaway has never done a Broadway show before. She was merely in a concert at the New Amsterdam. Not to mention that she is a mega star, doing promotion for what is likely to be the film that will get her an Oscar nod, and she will be shooting at least two films in '09. And Somethingwicked keeps saying this actress has mostly worked on TV, Hathaway is a film star. So no.

Anne Hathaway's officially listed Broadway debut and only credit was for Lili in Carnival. While it does seem an unlikely prospect, she has been showing a huge interest in returning back to Broadway in the near future with readings and inside feelers.

toddlisatyriem, the production Hathaway did of CARNIVAL was part of the City Center Encores! series, shows of which are not considered Broadway productions.

Consequentially, she has yet to make her official Broadway debut.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Yup, she was in Drowning Crow.

There are some people in the world who say that writing stories, or composing music or dancing sparkly dances is easy for them. Nothing interferes with their ability to create. This could just be a coincidence and/or me thinking to much but getting back to Autumn Hurlbert...

I just went to her website... http://www.autumnhurlbert.com/news.html

"okay kids, no rest for the wicked!" is the first line.

Again, maybe it's a coincidence or maybe Autumn is giving us a hint.
