Yeah. If you follow Gregory Butler (the associate choreographer for all of the international productions) on Instagram, you would see he’s been putting new non-equity companies out on the road for a while now. He’s also the guy that crash-courses all the new celebrity casting before it’s decided if they are good enough to go on stage by the producers.

Re: Alex being out. I’m actually a bit shocked they didn’t announce this at the time of the run. We know Alex has a less than subpar attendance record in their shows, but this was obviously a negotiated out and so I hope people don’t jump on them unfairly for their absences.

FYI, Alex is out of the show the rest of this week/weekend due to previous scheduled concerts.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I'm going to try and see it again when Hurder returns. The quartet of Hurder/Baldwin/Mutu/Newell seems to go. Maybe I'll luck out and get Max Clayton or James T. Lane as Billy.
"

Honestly pissed they couldn’t snap up Elaine Hendrix instead. THAT would’ve been a Roxie worth seeing. Any time they bring in a famous-for-being-famous reality star (Housewives/Mormon Wives…that sub genre), I roll my eyes. Granted, it’s what helps keep the Weisslers able to run Chicago endlessly - they will not pay big bucksfor anyone and so they can get these types for high name value at a low price.

I won’t have any shekels left for Chicago in February because I will be going back to see Kate again with Robyn.

However, I will say that I thought Whitney should have won DWTS and I don’t know anything about that Mormon wife show. She worked very hard on DWTS and had simply gorgeous lines. She really was my favorite so I am happy for her.

still shocking that Chicago was, once again, the only Broadway show playing last night, and they once again had a sellout.

I think this trio of Hurder, Baldwin and Newell is going to finally get me back to see Chicago after 20 years. My one complaint is I really hate most of the period wigs they use in the show now. I thought part of what made this revival so cool when it opened was the sleek and modern hairstyles. I don't understand why the entire production looks modern except for the hair now.

Hurder's Velma is fantastic. Top 3 in my book along with Deidre Goodwin and Leigh Zimmerman.
