1992

Lately I've found myself growing more and more obsessed with the year "1992" and I don't know why.

I think it may be due to its aesthetic beauty. Look at how the numbers are arranged. The "1", the "9", the next "9", and the "2". All of these combine to create a train of mystery and surrealism. The beauty of the numbers add up to a huge amount of mystique.

Maybe it's because it was the last year of my life where I was NOT aware of years. My final year of not knowing what lies beyond.

I turned five this year. The mid-section of my child life.

Share YOUR memories of 1992.

I've always like the way 1997 looked.

Maybe it's because I've always been attracted to "hooks" and "992" are like a hook orgy in the construction of the numbers.

It was a time of high hopes, when we thought we'd never have to say the words "President Bush" again. And I went to Disneyworld. All in all, not a bad year.

I was 4. Don't remember much. I'm sure it was a fine year.

It was a pretty good year (my parents' divorce notwithstanding). That was the summer of BATMAN RETURNS and A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN for me.

I was a high school freshman. But in Calvin revisionist years, I was actually only 7. By the year 2022, I will have been born in 1992.

Either way, it was years away from the virginity losing thing. Depending on what we're counting.

1992 was also the last year they held the Winter and Summer Olypmics on the same year. I watched the former (go Kristi!), but I don't quite recall the latter.

I was 10, and I was doing what 10 year olds usually do, whatever that is.

re: 1992

Two major events in 1992. It was the year I bought my first co-op, and the year I stopped counting birthdays.
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

Not a great year for me. Personally, I prefer 1969 and 1988.

re: 1992

Wow. I'd never thought about it, but it was an eventful year.

Met my partner, with whom I wound up spending 11 years together. Even though we are no longer together, he was my rock when I needed him to be, and I still consider him a very close friend.

It was the year I found out I was HIV+.

It was the year I choreographed my first show, and I got a Helen Hayes award nomination.

Clinton was elected to the White House.

My nephew/godson was born.

I graduated high school that year. I had my first boyfriend that year. Madonna's SEX book came out that year along with EROTICA. I got drunk the first time that year. I voted for the first time that year. Many great things happened that year.

And then it ALL WENT TO SH*T!

(just kidding :P )
