I got Jeter! And Damon! And Matsui! and Rivera! And Derick Lee and Kerry Wood from the Cubs! And Contreras from the White Sox! I've heard of these players, no idea who the rest are but I'll learn.
So now what?

I got 3 of top 5 on my pre ranking, and a bunch of the others i pre-ranked, so, that makes me happy.
ETA WHat are waivers?

Waivers...I'm not quite sure if it's adjusted per the draft league, but here's how it works in my league..
It's in effect for either players who someone just dropped or all the players a couple of days after the draft. If someone drops a player, he goes on waivers for a specified period of days. Let's say I want him. I go to add him and it says I have a waiver request pending until a certain time. In that time if no one else tries to add him, I get him. But let's say the next day the time for my pending isn't up, and patronus puts in a waiver request and he has a lower waiver ranking than me. Then he gets the player. Make sense?
Can we do a team role call in here? Seeing the whole draft, I wasn't sure of everyone's team. I'm Panda.
And I get A-Rod with the 4th pick. That was shocking/awesome.
Ooh, let's play a game of stupidest move you made in the draft tonight, we have some amusing stories. Mine was not getting Posada, and letting Patronus get him in the 11th round. Stupid me.
Glad you're happy Liotte...but umm...ahem...err...glad you're happy.
Isn't Wood injured?

Posted: 4/1/06 at 1:13amOkay, so checked the stats on my team and I might have...just a bit more closers than necessary. I saw at least 3 teams in serious needs of saves/a closer. So I'm encouraging trade offers for at least one, maybe 2, of my closers.

I am obviously Caitie's Crazies cause I am just cool like that.
I picked people way to early, but then I still ended up missing out on my #1 player who I thought wouldn't be gone before the second round was over.
I shoulda done more research, btu I think I ended up with some good players

Just a reminder everyone...
Tonight's Indian/White Sox came counts...so if you have any White Sox players, set your line up. Caitie, go ahead and set up the Indians as well.

Posted: 4/3/06 at 2:58pmMy team is DawnlikesRent obviously. Though I wasn't able to be there for the draft I am still pretty happy with my team. I got Mark Teixeria and Chris Carpenter. I also have Mark Prior...who should be good for me once he gets of the DL. I'm hoping Ryan Freel comes up huge for me again this year.

Posted: 4/6/06 at 11:56amCan someone explain the numbers in the box on the right hand side that says Week 1, Match Up, and has 2 teams listed?
#117re: Official 2006 BWW Fantasy Baseball League
Posted: 4/6/06 at 12:06pm
That is your current score. Every week you are against one other persons team and there are 10 categories if you win that category you get a point for that.
Someone else can explain more thoroughly
#118re: Official 2006 BWW Fantasy Baseball League
Posted: 4/6/06 at 12:12pmSo you want high numbers or low numbers?
#119re: Official 2006 BWW Fantasy Baseball League
Posted: 4/6/06 at 12:25pmYou want your number to be higher than the person you are against
#120re: Official 2006 BWW Fantasy Baseball League
Posted: 4/6/06 at 12:31pm
There are 10 categories
5 batting, 5 pitching
Each week you go head to head against another player.
You want to win each category against that player, if you win the category you get a point. The most points wins the "match" It only matters that you beat the one player you are "matched up" with. If I get 7 HRs this week and Stephen 6, I win that category, even if everyone else gets 15.
Then it is reflected in your record:
If I win 6 of the 10 categories against Stephen this week then I am 1-0-0
and he is 0-1-0
Next week we each play someone else. The same system holds.

Posted: 4/6/06 at 12:43pmOh, I see. I'm not very good at this game.
#122re: Official 2006 BWW Fantasy Baseball League

It is a long season. Your players can get hot. Or you can make trades.
#123re: Official 2006 BWW Fantasy Baseball League
Posted: 4/6/06 at 12:50pm
Yeah, ok so most of my players have the day off today (3 teams I have). Sh*t.
#124re: Official 2006 BWW Fantasy Baseball League
Posted: 4/6/06 at 2:37pmWell you mainly want high numbers--actually I think with these specific stats you always want high. But in some of my other leagues, we count errors and strikeouts from batters and stuff, and obviously you want those to be low.
