Yeah...my best friend is three blocks down on 4th and 2nd. I can't imagine what it's like in that hood right now. I'm looking out the window of the office and can't see anything in the East Village area...just smoke.
7 Alarm 12 injured & 3 critical. None were fire fighters. Turns out 3 buildings were on fire. One eyewitness said she saw a man run from the building right before it exploded.
That sure is an intense fire. Smoke just started filling my apt. and I"m several blocks away. I closed all the windows, for fear of Jezebel breathing in smoke.
Oy, they interviewed a young guy who lived in the apt. He and his roommates are alright. He said there are only 4 apt in the building, 15 people. Hopefully all are safe.
The number of critically injured has now jumped to 4. In addition, it looks like they will not be able to search the debris of the collapsed building until tomorrow at the earliest.
