I never even use the term that so many gay guys refer to their girl friends. I even tried to make a new one "queer peer" but it never caught on....

Perhaps the reason it never caught on is because it makes absolutely no sense.

PEACE.

I don't mind a dyke in my bar because you never know when a bitch fight will break out, and lesbians are good at bouncing folks.

TheatreDiva, I officially love you.

Muscle - I'm guessing it bothers him because he's not attracted to women sexually. I mean if a woman came up to me and said "watch me play with my rabbit" I'd probably vomit on her open-toed shoes. Unless maybe it was Kate Winslet, but I digress..

"I find it so obnoxious that straight folks feel that every person NEEDS to have a romantic partner in order to lead a full, happy and complete life. But I understand it. That's how we're raised, unfortunately."

Indeed - if you had Ozzie & Harriet for parents. Not one of my straight friends (male or female) have that mindset.

What is sort of sad are straight females who avoid intimacy with potential partners because they are so firmly attached to a gay male friend - that no one else can possibly "match up" to them, therefore staying in a "safe" yet ultimately very unfulfilling situation. Those women eventually find sadness and disappointment with their lives once their "gay boyfriend" moves on - and he will. And visa versa - it works both ways - disfunction is an equal opportunity employer equality for all...except those bitches who insist on going in gay bars

The guy who wrote this "memo", for whatever reason, seems somewhat unhappy and a bit angry with his own life.

She grew up tall - she grew up right.

"This is one of the prime examples of why the GLBT community is not accepted by the straights. We can't even get along with each other."

Okay, that makes no sense. PLENTY of straight people "accept" the GLBT community. As for those who don't, do you actually think it's because some gay men and some lesbians "can't even get along with each other"? Seriously?

"Awww, gee, I'd accept them, Hortense, but I just can't when them dykes and fags can't even git along."

"I've always loathed seeing women at gay bars"

Mejust - I am pretty much disgusted by most things you post, but this ranks up there as one of the most loathsome.

You are in NO WAY representative of my viewpoint - indeed , the viewpoint of any gay person I know.

Truly, this makes me sick. Your issues have become so virulently apparent, I can only hope that a casual reader of this forum realizes how ridiculous your opinions are.

Honestly, this is revolting.

Please, papa, I could take anything he'd have to give.

There's just not anything there.

I used to hit Connection in Nashville for a number of reasons. I liked to dance and the DJ was the best in town. I really liked the huge drag show they did. I wasn't going to find new gay friends. I had gay friends. Yeah, I like gals, too, so it may have just been different for me. (We had one girl bar at the time and it was not something I was interested in.) I just never understood guys getting pissed if girls were in the bar. There was another bar called the Chute (heh heh) and most of the men really had a bad attitude toward girls being there, gay or otherwise. I felt uncomfortable there and didn't go back.

As for the name given to the girls that hang on the gay boys, I like Fruit Fly or Fairy Princess. :P

Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

I can't beleive you guys are missing the point. Some of us straight women like to be around gay guys because the thought of two (or more)hot (attractive or funny or gentle) men together is a huge turnon. Look at the fan base for Queer as Folk - how about the authors of gay porn on the net - largely het women. Two hot guys - whether it is in a club, walking down the street holding hands, conducting business together, or in a seuxual situation, is a huge aphrodisac. Sometimes we go to gay bars because we enjoy a little voyeurism with our Cosmos! Maybe, I'm just talking for myself. Maybe, I'm a gay man in a woman's body, maybe who knows . . . Am I alone here?
