(and Peter & Paul also, of course.)
On October 11 I will be marching to the Capital Building in Washington, DC along with hundreds of thousands of others to demand EQUALITY. NOW.
Decades ago, Martin Luther King, Jr. led marches in Washington for racial equality. Walking with him and singing to the hundreds of thousands of people at that time were Peter, Paul & Mary.
I hope that you take the time to read the following blog entry from columnist Anne Stockwell. In it, she informs us of a statement PP&M wished to make regarding marriage equality back in 2004.

PP&M's music and activism inspired me throughout life. It is because of them that I stand up for equal rights today. Please join me on October 11 in honoring Mary Travers' legacy as I march on Washington and demand equal rights for ALL U.S. citizens.

What an incredibly beautiful statement. I can't wait to march!
I just sent in an email to Broadway Impact about my ticket for the march. I just saw Sutton's video on their website and it got me to want to sign up to go. I do agree with her and with everything that she said in it. I too once saw myself as someone who figured that an issue like this was and is a problem from someone else to solve. But, There is a lot of debating going on in my town with the WBC (westboro baptist Church) coming into town on Friday and that made me stop and realize that I don't care what anyone else says. I need to stand up and march for that which I believe in.
That's the day before my birthday (isn't that "coming out" day?). Kinda ironic. Anyway, I hope you guys and gals have fun and scream extra loud for me.
