I just thank goodness there are still such things as live Blues clubs.

Junk food can be tasty but it's rarely edgy and it's never, ever authentic.

If I had watched I would have complained about J Lo. I think she's fine with the acting stuff, but her music career I just find inexplicable.

And that title song. How can people rave about his chops when it's all computerized and processed? It makes me want to join the Society for the Rehumanization of American Music.
I think it's totally fine he's not breaking any ground with the "controversial stage moves," but the poor child probably thinks he's copying Hedwig with the fellatio on the lead guitar and has no idea who Mick Ronson was.

(Does "family hour" even exist anymore?)
Wanting life but never knowing how

Of course you are, but isn't it a sad statement you have to? There are people who write their own stuff out there in the world and make great recordings without selling their souls to the majors who hand them a menu of songs to choose from and then rip them off and leave them bankrupt after making them sound like robots.
I just figure everybody must know what a sham it is by now and can't really be surprised when the same narratives play out over and over. Is it the second or third album by an Idol-related performer where they traditionally announce they are taking over the direction of their career and are going to do songs they really believe in from now on and then it tanks and they come crawling back to Clive Davis who erodes away whatever rough edges they might have had in the hopes they can pay back the advances they blew?

Namo, I think you've pretty much nailed the AI Experience, such as it is. I don't really have a beef with any of them, but I do think by this point people reap what they sow when it comes to AI. It's all so cynical, it makes me long for a quainter time, when I was SHOCKED to find out the Spice Girls were manufactured, and not five best mates.

Perhaps - but that didn't take place on national television, either.

Judy Garland and Frank Sinatra were hacks!
BTW--Lambert wrote some of the songs.
But here's the thing: I don't have to prove my cred to anyone. I don't have to wear my cred on my sleeve or in endless threads on a message board. I like what I like. And, I like some of the folks you like and I like some of the folks you despise. And, you prob like folks I despise.
I'm not gonna judge you. Don't feel the need to. Why do you feel the need to judge others so darn much?
I don't honestly care that you do--I'm just curious as to why.

I also didn't understand the thing with Out magazaine, but a bunch of queens were in a snit.

Also, the hyperbole on the reviews on iTunes just put me over the edge. Adam never "seizes to amaze" one fella, he has released the greatest collection of songs ever, and it's fresh and different. It's that same sensation of being in Opposite Land when W was president, war was peace, expanding government was limiting government, and the mission was accomplished. It isn't the greatest collection of songs ever, it is NOT fresh and different, but I suppose he does seize to amaze some people. I do prefer singer/songwriters to interpreters, and if they ARE interpreters I think it should be a bare minimum requirement that they should be in charge of their interpretations, not their producers with computers and knobs.
That's all. I guess you can't begrudge people for liking something. I just wish they could find a way to access stuff that's really good, orginal, authentic, edgy and HUMAN.
That's all. To make a long story long.

I wouldn't, however, be surprised if the machine is controlling him and micromanaging him--and that's a part of music, film, theatre that I loathe as well. It's the part of AI I can't stand. I am, however, thankful that AI gave him and a handful of other talents a jump-start. What they do with opportunity will be the true test.
Thus, I don't think Lambert has proven he's a true star, but I do believe in his potential. And I'm digging the new album, of which I have heard more than 30 sec clips on iTunes, to be fair.
