My dad got all excited about watching this. He's a big movie buff and we all watched it with him. He actually wrote down every movie and the year they came out too! The only part when I cried, was when I saw the clips of Rudy. I love that movie and I cry every time I watch it. I even cried the first time I watched it when I was 4.

ETA- I have also never seen It's a Wonderful Life, though I really should.

Addy, when I was younger, I never cared about the classics. As I got older, I'd heard so much about it and knew the story that, I guess, I thought I'd seen it. I must have seen parts, but I have to sit down and watch it.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson

It's the message that makes it so special.

That, and the perfect performances by Donna Reed and Jimmy Stewart!

(Undi, I tivo'd it...)

I absolutely detest these list shows. My wife was watching, so I saw most of it. I couldn't understand the inclusion or placement of some of those films. For example, why GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER?, which, even in 1967 was much ado about nothing. A far better Sidney Poitier choice (since they seemed to be desperate to include him in as many choices as possible), would have been A PATCH OF BLUE, which fits the theme of the show, so much better.

I disagree about Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, but I do agree that these lists can be bogus.

They had a list of the 100 Funniest Movies, or something like that. Not only was Clueless in the down in the 90s (it should be much higher than that), but three notches above it was Zoolander. Now, I love Zoolander as much as the next guy, but COME ON! Updated On: 6/15/06 at 12:54 AM

You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree.

There's a special kind of people known as show people. We live in a world full of dreams. Sometimes we're not too certain what's false and what's real. But we're seldom in doubt about what we feel.

I watched some of it, and was not surprised by a lot of their choices, though I disagree with many. Once again (my standard complaint with these list shows)...the pre code era is basically shut out and silents are only "mentioned" in these type of shows.

The best thing about this list is getting the names of lesser known classics back out there and generating interest in them again.
