I'm from California, and I have been dancing since I was three. All that stuff is what you HAVE to have if you want to win a dance competition in Cali. Thats how comepetitive it is down here. It's as if you don't have rinestones on your coustume you wont win either. It's crazy down here dance wise. In order to be considered an advanced dancer you have to be able to do at least 10 piroets, and Turns in Second, you have to be able to do illusions and all those things that little girl was doing. When I went to new York to see a broadway show, the dancing was nothing compared to what it is down here. Even the tap down here is much diffrent, faster and harder. Though I hold more respect for Broadway Dancers than us kids down here. Most of us are trick kids...if you notice the Choregraphy it's nothing, nothing special at all, just tricks and turns. It's much better on broadway.

So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space

Holy crap that was CRAZY. Although bettini's right, the choreography's not that special. I've never seen anyone pirouette like that, though. I liked her trip though, up the stairs. That was funny.

That dance to that Ertha Kitt song...or rather that choreography, is DAMN sexy. It works so perfectly with the bass strings and the tone of the music. Whoever choreographed that should have done Sweet Charity instead of Wayne Cliento.

Akvia, right there with you. That was my favourite number.
Such a sexy song too!

That little girl was incredible. But you're right, nothing to the choreogaphy. I am incredibly amazed at her pirouettes....but by like the third set i got the picture....i wanted to see her do more steps!

The dance was basically just to show off how much a little girl can turn without falling on her head.

Her pirouette's have this tecnique. If you notice her arms are pushed up high and so is her leg, her spot is constant and as she prepares to turn she contracts her stomach, if you contact your stomach, push your pelvis out and suck in, your bound to do alot of turns. That girl has been trained to do that exact thing since she started dancing, I'm sure. Because we all know down here your not gonna win unless you can spin like no one else.

I think I saw this video a few weeks ago.
Is this the little girl who does tons of turns and then trips on her way up the stairs?
LOL!

I wonder what some of the parents of these children think about some of the choreography their 9 - 13 year old CHILDREN are doing! Two Words: Jean Benet...

Honestly, watching that, I was a little bored. Yeah, she did a ton of tricks and such that I will probably never be able to do, but they were just that- tricks. There was no choreography in that number, and what little expression she showed looked as if it were painted on, and I guess choreographed too, in a way. It's this kind of dancing that turned me away from dance competitions... I'd rather show expression than do a zillion turns in all kinds of flexible positions. But that's just me; apparently the judges liked this girl's routine. And she does have talent, I'll give her that, but I would have liked to see her try to use the music more. Or maybe not, since she's only nine.
