Get the fingers dialing, show Adam some love!
Can't say he didn't go for it, at least it wasn't a ballad.

Posted: 2/25/09 at 10:21pmAdam doesn't need my votes. I'm dialing for Kris.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#553
Posted: 2/25/09 at 10:23pmAllison knocked it out of the park and was my favorite of the night. Then I would go for the charming Kris. Adam is clearly a good singer, but I HATED his smug cocky performance. I like him when his performance is organic, but I can't stand the staged showiness. And his hair just makes me want to look away. At this point, I would probably buy an Adam CD, but I wouldn't buy a ticket to see him perform live. I'm on the fence about him.

Posted: 2/25/09 at 10:24pmMister Matt, I couldn't agree more. On every point.

And I can't imagine sitting through a Kris concert. Snore.. Adam is a very entertaining performer.

I personally think... this is a SINGING competition. And you CANNOT deny that Adam has THE technically best voice in the competition, bar non.
Now I totally understand if people were turned off by the performance, or by the style of the vocals.
I personally thought it was incredible
Perhaps a little TOO over the top? Sure. But that was made much easier to take by the fact that the song itself is a bit of a man, crazy song. You couldn't really DO that song if you weren't showy. So yeah, I thought because of the song choice it was freaking CRAZY AMAZING.
Does he need to work on making sure not ALL of his performances come off that way? Sure. But for right now, it EXCEEDED my already high expectations
As for everyone else:
Based on TONIGHT? I'd Say Allison was by far the best girl, and either Megan or Kris should be 3rd (really probably Kris. Megan made the best song choice, but her voice itself is not as good as Kris's)
I also really enjoy Matt and Jesse, though they made poor song choices.

I think Norman may have tempered any showiness that Adam may have done. Now if Adam makes it to the next round, something like "I just love you" may make America say WTF? This guy can sing!

^Yes, I think he should definitely go with a little bit something softer for the finals, just to show that he CAN :)
His advantage is that he can aalmost literally sing anything. There's not a whole lot of notes in the tenor+ range that he can't hit. And his can change his voice to fit different styles of music too. So, just because this performance WAS so showy, I think he needs to work toward something a bit softer for next time, so people will see he can do that as well.
I feel like something like I Just Love You might be a tiny bit TOO much of a stark contrast for right now, to the point where the judges would call it an "identity crisis", but if he went with something more along those LINES, it would do him some real good.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#559
Posted: 2/26/09 at 12:03amKris was my favorite tonight and actually my favorite for the whole thing. I checked that "other" site (dialidol lol) and according to that right now its, Adam, Allison and Matt Giraud. I voted my fingers off for Kris and he was ahead of the 2 Matts and in 3rd place right up until the last 45 minutes or so. I am sad now. I can't stand Adam and I thought Matt G. sucked tonight. JMO

I really do wish Kris would get through 3rd
I just... I think he'd be so great for the more indie/acoustic vibe that no other contestants this year really have...and the major hunk of eye candy he provides
re: AMERICAN IDOL#562
Posted: 2/26/09 at 1:28amEw, I didn't like Adam at all. I mean, he can sing, but at points he sounded like ass (thank you, Simon) and he's so over the top.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#563
Posted: 2/26/09 at 2:11amI agree, SNL. I loathe indie and acoustic music, but it's definitely missing in the competition so far. He could definitely get somewhere if he kept going with that. And he is cute.

I do think Adam needs to turn it down a notch for now, that room wasn't that big he was singing in, but acted like it was an arena. Hopefully he'll get another chance.

I fell asleep. What did he sing?
I know some of you liked Norman, but I think he's a total joke. And Kris was OK, but I'm not as in love with him as some of you. Is Allison the girl with the red/pinkish hair? I loved that girl!
re: AMERICAN IDOL#566
Posted: 2/26/09 at 7:23amAllison did have red hair - Adam sang Satisfaction. It was pretty over the top, but I'm sure he'll get through...

As much as I've praised Adam's vocals, he said himself last night that he's used to playing to an audience that's more or less far away and he'd have to learn to reign it in.
Problem is he didn't last night...he was still the showman, which might serve him well when he hits the big stage at the Kodak but in these early rounds it can come off as a bit arrogant and obnoxious.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#568
Posted: 2/26/09 at 7:53amI cannot believe I freaking fell asleep. I hope Adam makes it through.

Posted: 2/26/09 at 8:00amStockard, you can only have 5 glasses of wine before the show! It was the sixth glass that put you over the edge!

LOL Stockard!
I love Adam. I think he's great..but I HATE his look.I hate his clothes. I hate his hair. I hate the jewlery.
He needs a serious make over. Where is Stacy and Clinton when you need them?

As I have said before, I am an Adam fan but I did not enjoy his performance last night. While it was the most polished performance of the night, I didn't care for the vocal hysterics. Some of it just seemed senseless. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. He just went one step too far for my tastes. I still hope he gets through though. He definitely belongs in the top 12.
I didn't care for any of the girls so I don't care which of them gets through. I would prefer none of them make it including the girl with the magenta hair and vocal nodes that the judges seemed to have a fit over.
I am really hoping that Kris Allen makes it through. Yes, his performance was a bit pedestrian, but I would be interested in seeing what else he could do. I found him to be very charming...and he sure is easy on the eyes.
