AMERICAN IDOL
re: AMERICAN IDOL#600
Posted: 2/26/09 at 9:19pmsnl, I have a feeling Paula might pick Tatiana to come back, if anything just because she's wearing her jewelry.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#602
Posted: 2/26/09 at 9:44pmI am very happy that Kris was picked...I have to admit that even though I wanted him, I was a bit surprised. dialidol got it wrong big time this time lol. I am glad that Allison got (I did like Mishovanna alot too though) and I don't care for Adam at all but I guess he can sing lol.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#603
Posted: 2/26/09 at 9:52pmYou know, I'm not the biggest Adam fan, myself. He can sing, no doubt about it, but he kind of rubs me the wrong way. And he is tons cuter without all the makeup.

Just wanted to plug in some info to landryjames2 about Season 2's wild card workings.
There were four groups of which audience voters selected two from each, totaling 8. The wild card group was chosen from the left overs and all of them performed the following show, and the audience voted. The audience picked one, which was Clay Aiken, and then the three judges, from the rest, each picked another to fill out the top 12. Paula selected Treynce, Simon selected Kimberly Caldwell and Randy (I believe) chose Carmen Rasmussen.
It totally made the show that year. The next year I believe only one was chosen, Jennifer Hudson.

I am VERY happy with the 3 that went through......Allison, Kris and Adam.
I really hope that the judges pick the actual "talented" remaining contestants for the wild cards and not the Nick/Norman and Tatiana jokes.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#606
Posted: 2/27/09 at 9:50amI'm very happy that Kris made it through. I figured Adam was a sure thing and probably will go all the way to the finale. I still want to see him reel it in a little. I'm indifferent to Allison but good for her just the same.

Simon was the one responsible for making us watch Carmen Rasmussen, not Randy. He chose her as his wild card and continued to insist she did great even though she was terrible.
I wasnt that impressed with Kris either night. The third spot should've been Mishavonna. I was impressed again in her short clip last night.

re: AMERICAN IDOL#608
Posted: 2/27/09 at 10:31amMishavonna was my favorite girl and I was baffled by the judges response to her.

The wildcard this year works like this: Each judge brings back one contestant from each group....thats 12 kids. Then they have to sing and we vote on them to get the last 3 contestants to make up the final 12!
OK, I guess I was wrong about this, my hubby just told me that the judges will pick, out of their choices, who the wild cards will be.

No real surprises last night. I'm happy with the picks. Jeez, this is taking a long time. Does this show run for 6 months or something?
btw - I forgot to ask this before, but what was that group song last week? I really liked it.

The way things are shaping up are all the wildcards going to be girls so they can make up an even number with guys or are they abandoning the idea that it has to be 6 guys and 6 girls?
re: AMERICAN IDOL#613
Posted: 2/27/09 at 2:20pmI wonder why the real pretty blond that Kara loved wasn't picked. I bet she comes back for the wild card.

there is a new interview with adam, alison and kris on mj's big blog. Anyone else just a teeny bit sad that adam doesn't listen to show tunes and theater is a pay check for him?
come on, if he doesn't win, he's going to need those paychecks.
It doesn't change my mind in the least about his talent and star quality and I guess he's trying to play down the theater side for Idol, but share the love Adam! I for one would be buying a ticket to see him in any show. But I'll also be buying his albums too :)
re: AMERICAN IDOL#615
Posted: 2/28/09 at 1:12pmWell I love theatre, but I don't listen to showtunes either.

Haha, I DO listen to showtunes on my ipod- sometimes a ridiculous amount- but don't mind at all if he doesn't :P Plus, I can imagine that when you actually DO theater, and HAVE to perform theater 8 days a week every week, you probably would want something different to listen to in your spare time.
Heck, even I go through stages where I'll go weeks without listening to any showtunes whatsoever. It just depends
Anyway, can I just say that the more I see of Adam's personality, the more I love him <3

He's so awesome. He's like.. honest and straight forward without being too blunt, and also really sweet and friendly seeming
And KUDOS to him for having the guts to call out Tatiana on TV! TOTALLY needed to be done hahaha

awww, Allison reminds me of my daughter! They move around the same way.
I think Adam looked like a little gossip with the Tatiana jab. The other two were smart to keep quiet.

thanks for that link, it was cute. I have been known to enjoy the show tunes as well as rock, 80s hair metal is my fav. So he's the best of both worlds in my eyes.
Alison was adorable in that video.

aww come now, it's TATIANA we're talkin' about here haha.
No seriously though, I think I might have been more skeptical about that comment if he hadn't seemed to think very very highly of everyone else. I definitely don't get the impression that he's just the gossipy type who would say that about anyone he doesn't like. It's just, I'm sure that everyone else felt the exact same way about Tatiana in particular. She IS a complete drama queen and probably a biotch too- purposely so. So I think he was just stating what everyone else already knew and felt anyway. He was just the only one willing to go out and actually say publicly "yeah, she's ridiculous". So I thought that was cool :) I think in general he's just not above naming names. In another interview he also specifically said he loves Matt Giraud as an artist and hope he comes back for the wildcards, while Allison and Kris didn't specify anyone in particular. So yeah, I think he's just very honest that way. Which I really respect.
But yes, Allison is totally adorable <3 It's so cute that she'd get all fangirly over news people!
And I loved the "I DO Steve, I DO. You're awesome!" hehe
re: AMERICAN IDOL#621
Posted: 2/28/09 at 3:26pmWell technically he's not the one who brought her up......LOL
