re: AMERICAN IDOL#1804
Posted: 4/28/09 at 10:34pmI actually think it's pretty boring, too. There's no real neck in neck race.

Kris is my absolute favorite. I thought he did really well, I just think people are going to forget about him because his performance was more subtle and he went first. I like Adam a lot too but that was just like Muse's version, so I thought it was good but not incredible.
I hope Allison and Matt stay, only because I want Danny to leave as soon as possible.

I actually fell asleep around the time Danny was on and when they showed the recap, I have no idea why. He was screaming so much I'm surprised I wasn't scared out of my brief slumber.
And while I completely agree that Adam is in a class by himself in terms of skill, technique, vocals, I'm still finding something off-putting around him. He's a cipher...I see no discernable personality...it's kind of like where's Adam? Yes, were getting weekly tutorials on how to work the stage, but will we ever see behind the mask?
I liked Kris and Allison best...Matt and Danny can go anytime.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1807
Posted: 4/29/09 at 8:12amI'm still reeling from that note Adam hit at the end.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1808
Posted: 4/29/09 at 12:42pmLast night was the first night I liked Danny. I thought he was great. I'm not sure who is going home. I'm guessing Allison or Matt?
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1809
Posted: 4/29/09 at 12:56pmI didn't think Danny was so bad, really. I mean, it's not really my thing, but I didn't find it terrible or awful. Matt put me to sleep and at this point, Adam just annoys the hell out of me and I honestly don't want to hear any more high rock belting. Adam's song was slightly better than last week but...bleagh! His OTT antics and constant shrieking give me a headache. I found Kris and Allison to be the top two of the evening with Kris just barely edging out Allison for the number one spot. His performance was perfection.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1810
Posted: 4/29/09 at 1:02pmDanny has done that same screaming thing EVERY WEEK ON EVERYSONG. I guess he (the producers) got tired of him using his wife's corpse as a surfboard, so he's had to actually rely on his "talent" which is pretty much non-existant.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1811
Posted: 4/29/09 at 1:07pmKris was my favorite last night ...he was amazing. Danny was good and I actually liked Allison for a change. Adam needs to stop screeching and sticking his damn tongue out hes sickening. I know that that is just my opinion and I am mostly alone in it but I just don't like him. I also agree with the poster that said that they should have used the save on Alexis Grace ...she deserved it far more than Matt did.

re: AMERICAN IDOL#1813
Posted: 4/29/09 at 1:16pmAs much as I hate to say it, I think Allison will be going home. Like last week, I had very little difficulty getting through voting for her. I hope I'm wrong.

Was I the only one rolling their eyes at Adam's entrance on the stairs?

Wow-I was reeling from Adam's entrance, but it was reeling with adoration. The man walked those stairs!! The suit, the makeup, the aplomb, the humility, all of it! I love the guy. I used to think he screeched, but I was entirely wrong. The man is on pitch.
Danny is the one who sounds like he will bust every vein in his forehead if he sings another note. Think Michael Bolton (puke). He makes singing seem like the hardest thing he ever had to do.
I hope Danny goes tonight but I doubt he will. Maybe Matt.

Jane, I love that you're an Adam convert! Now THAT's being openminded, people!
He is who he is, he sings like he sings, but it is all good technique. Dislike his style, but noone can deny that kid's nerve, musicality and style. Last night was not my cup of tea, but he sang perfectly. I do think that he gets an advantage by being last every week (do they draw straws and he always wins?) and that he gets better lighting and staging. I remember thinking the same about Chris Daughtry...what gives?
I wonder if Danny is ever going to give birth to that baby. Talk about pushing.
I thought Matt stunk musically especially in the beginning of the number where Jamie Foxx screwed him over. That was just too low for him.
Alison was terrific again, but I'm afraid that Simon tolled the bell for her with his final comments.

Doodle, you remember that I was anti-Adam! Boy am I a convert! It took a while but I wised up!
I thought the whole star entrance they gave him last night was so fitting. I'm not even embarrassed to be a huge fan-he's a real idol as far as I'm concerned.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#1822
Posted: 4/29/09 at 4:24pmI've always said that Adam is obviously very talented. I just don't like his style at all. The high-pitched rock banshee is something of which I've never been fond. A little goes a VERY long way. Week after week after week after week is just too much for me. Sort of like Yngwie Malmsteen. I can listen to enough to determine he's brilliant at what he does. It's just that it's not something I want to hear.

I'm not a great fan of what you call banshee either, but he's proven to me that he can sing in many styles. And sing well, too!
