AMERICAN IDOL
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2050
Posted: 5/7/09 at 2:59pmProbably 15 years older? How old is Paula? Like 48?

Paula had a good dance routine...but I don't think you can even sing like that live because the singing voice sounds like a computer.

No, she wasn't singing live...
but she's got the dance resume to back it up. Damn, Paula has still got it!
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2053
Posted: 5/7/09 at 3:57pmBut would her voice sound like that if she was singing under the same conditions (a regular microphone) as the contestants that she critiques each week?
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2054
Posted: 5/7/09 at 4:08pm
Probably not...since it probably wouldn't have that computer-y sound to it through a normal mic.

Gwen is 39, Paula is 47. Difference is, how long has it been since either of them performed live? Paula's last album was in 1995 and her last two singles were in 1996 and 2008. She's really been out of the game for well over 10 years.
Paula definitely wasn't singing live (not sure why it's an issue when the group numbers are typically lip-synced as well). My only point was that she can dance AND lip-sync 10 times better than Britney, who is WAY overpaid for her efforts.

Craww....I don't have bad taste, I just have different taste than you. I didn't say Danny was the best thing ever, I just could easily listen to him longer than I could listen to Adam scream or whine another song. And I never said I liked that last note of Danny's..I thought it was horrendous and funny. Danny isn't even my favorite....Kris is!!!!!
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2057
Posted: 5/7/09 at 11:58pmI enjoyed Paula's performance alot. Ya she was lipsyncing. I don't get the big deal about it. Alot of performers that dance lipsync. That's almost a given anymore. She can get away with it because she is a great dancer and puts on a fab show.

Paula Abdul lipsyncing is about as inconsequential as Gwen Stefani singing live and consistently sounding terrible while doing so. As long as they're giving the right kind of performance for their material and for their fanbase, it doesn't matter. I think they were.
Craww....I don't have bad taste, I just have different taste than you.
You're right, I can't really claim as an objective fact that you have bad taste. In my opinion, you do. (In your opinion, you don't. Your side being represented here, you can feel free to disregard this comment.)

You can not judge a persons taste completely by one singer either, We are both posting on a broadway message board so I bet there are alot of really good broadway and off broadway stars, that we both like equally. I won't hold the fact that you like Adam against you!!!! lol

I was more basing it on the fact that I'm pretty sure I've disagreed with nearly everything I've ever seen you post here. I mean, I can totally judge you, it's just not very nice of me.
We can probably agree that it's going to suck when the producers throw Kris under the bus on Tuesday so they can achieve the Good VS Evil/Danny VS Adam finale they've been building since the beginning of the top 13.

Wow, I'm shocked by the age of Gwen Stefani. I could have sworn she was in her 20's and that Paula was at least 50. Fooled me!

Even though Kris has been my favorite this season, I honestly never expected him to make it this far...due to lack of exposure in the beginning. I am very glad however that he has. I am sure he will get blasted again this week, and probably for the reasons you have mentioned there, craww....we shall see.
and your right, your not very nice!! lol
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2063
Posted: 5/9/09 at 8:40amJane, I thought Gwen was about 33. The reason I had figured that was because she was with No Doubt for a while already before she married Gavin Rossdale - and they have had 2 kids already. I didn't know she was 39 though. That really surprised me.....
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2064
Posted: 5/9/09 at 11:27amGwen still looks like she's 25. Her age really shocked me too.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2065
Posted: 5/10/09 at 8:42amWhat do you think the chances of a Kris/Adam finale are? THAT'S what I want to see. Danny is completely unmarketable. He will end up like poor Taylor Hicks.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2067

Maybe I'm just overly optimistic, but I really do kind of think there's a better chance of a Kris/Adam finale than a lot of people might think :)
The thing is, Kris has for the most part sailed through the competition so far, and you'd never really expect that that could have happened, but it did! So I think people kind of seem to underestimate the strength of his fan base. And now that it's basically down to him and Danny fighting it out to be in the finals with Adam, Kris is drawing from the SAME pool as Danny fan base wise, but he's the more talented, more adorable, and more likable of the two. So I think when it comes down to it Kris really has a good shot.
And actually, I'm not going to lie... as an Adam fan I'm thinking it would probably be smarter if I rooted for it to be a Danny/Adam finale! I don't really see ANY way that Danny would win over Adam's fan base. I just don't. But Kris? Again, he's Danny but way more talented, adorable, and likable. So in terms of who poses the larger threat, I'm thinking it's Kris.
That said, maybe I'm just not competitive enough, but I'd almost rather it be Kris/Adam in the finale and Kris win, then it be a Danny/Adam finale and Adam for sure win! haha. Granted obviously much as I love Kris I'd still be voting my booty off for Adam and hoping he won, but I just don't believe in hoping for the better people go just so that my favorite can win. Kris deserves to be there, Danny doesn't, so Kris needs to be there! Besides, it's still Adam's competition to lose :) He can totally handle the bigger threat Kris poses! It'll just keep him on his toes and at the top of his game as needed :P

I think you are WAAAAAAY overanalyzing this snl!
HAHAHAHAHAHA!
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2069

It'll be an Adam/Danny finale with Danny winning. You can bank on it! The producers can't wait to play up the Good vs Evil, Angel vs Devil, Light vs Dark angle; with Good/Angel/Light winning, of course.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2070
Posted: 5/10/09 at 12:50pmI really don't think Danny will win though in that case. I think Adam would pick up more of Kris's votes than Danny.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2071

Don't forget that Danny has never been in the bottom 3. Danny has the Christian right, Evangelical, Holy Roller vote. And if he doesn't yet, he definitely will after this week's tug-at-your-heartstrings "homecoming" episode where he'll be featured singing with his church's choir. Also, one should never underestimate the still rampant homophobic ignorance of the American people. Adam will not win. And he'll be better off for it.

re: AMERICAN IDOL#2073

As I've mentioned before, I don't believe the votes decide anything. That said, I also don't think the producers are going to let Adam win. For ratings purposes. And I'll be happy if he doesn't win. He'll be much better off.
In fact, I'm sure he's juggling offers while we speak!

From what I've heard the producers do want him to win........just sayin'
I'm sure he'll be fine either way, but just once I'd like to care about someone winning.
