I want it to be Kris and Adam so bad.
I fell asleep around 10:00, but I voted consistently until then and only got through 5 times.

USA Today did an interesting article on the final 3. As much as I want a Kris/Adam finale, I guess the parts that interested me most certainly feed into the Battle of Good VS Evil the producers are wanting.
"Look," says Lambert, "I didn't really come here to win as much as I came to get exposure and build my career. It's about what the show gives us."
Gokey listens, then says, "I think it's about leaving a mark in people's hearts."
and then
He and Kris have been roommates, and a friendship has formed. "Danny and me? Well, we're really different," says Lambert softly. "On everything. So we often agree to disagree."
The article.

Posted: 5/13/09 at 7:12amI swear if Adam goes home tonight because people split their votes, I'm gonna open up a SERIOUS CAN OF WHOOP ASS!!!!
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2153
Posted: 5/13/09 at 8:00amMy friend has tickets to both nights of the finale, and she said if Adam goes home she's selling the tickets! I don't blame her!
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2154
Posted: 5/13/09 at 8:01amI fell in love with Kris last night. His take on "Heartless" was just amazing.

I'd sell them too.
If Adam isn't in the finale it will be a total snooze fest.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2156
Posted: 5/13/09 at 8:17amWell, this season is starting to smell like the season when Hicks won, when Chris Daughtry was sent home, then Elliot Yamin, and we were left with McPhee and Hicks in the finals. I didn't watch the finals that year, and if Adam is sent home, I won't watch this year either.

Posted: 5/13/09 at 8:19amI'm with you on that, Madbrian.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2158
Posted: 5/13/09 at 8:21amI'd vote for Kris just to keep Taylor Jr. from winning.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2161
Posted: 5/13/09 at 10:41amHonestly, though there have been moments where I had doubt, my first thought upon hearing that Adam was going to be on Idol was, "Everybody else might as well go home." He truly has an incredible voice.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2163
Posted: 5/13/09 at 11:01amKris is my favorite contestant, but I love Adam too and he deserves to win. I just think Kris deserves to be in the final two over Gokey. I will be an extremely happy person if that happens tonight.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2164
Posted: 5/13/09 at 11:07amGokey sounded full of phlegm. I did not like Adam's first performance, in part cos I didn't like the song. His back up singer was totally trying to screw him over during Cryin' but he still managed to rock it. Kris, however, for me stole the show with his Heartless. I hate the original but will 100% download his version. I wish I would have noticed the nail polish! LOL
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2165
Posted: 5/13/09 at 11:24amGokey needs to go. I can't watch him anymore. He's too awkward.

Danny needs to go, he just doesn't have the musical ability or knowledge to warrant a spot in the finals.
Although I think Kris wins over Adam as Danny's votes go to Kris. Adam has a much easier time winning over Danny. But to be fair, Kris deserves to in the finale much more than Danny.
I'm okay with Adam losing to Kris but I am not okay with him going home before Danny.
Danny/Kris finale I may not watch, likely not vote. I will watch results night for the duets.

My two cents:
Danny - Competent, yet pedestrian performance of the first song. Not really memorable. Perfection on the second song. Sorry to disappoint, but that was an impressive display of vocal control and musicianship.
Kris - Competent first song, though lacking in spark and originality. However, it was a wise song choice and admirably performed. Stole the night with the second song. Original, gutsy and flawlessly performed. It was a landmark performance of the season, which should and probably will be remembered.
Adam - First song was a retread of If I Can't Have You. Rather dull and aimless adaptation in order to shoehorn in his signature banshee. Second song was better and more banshee-appropriate, yet nothing less predictable or original to his own style than Danny displayed in his own style in his first song. Adam is clearly the better singer of the two, but it seems he burned out of his originality earlier in the season and last night was more or less an "Adam's Greatest Hits" performance. I really don't mind his invoking the banshee in songs that fit the style, such as last week. I was behind him in the beginning of his first song, but when it was clear he was going to give us the same thing yet again, I just lost interest. I understand the reasoning behind sticking to what you do best, but at this point, Kris showed more style and originality in Heartless while sticking with his own vocal strengths and outshone Adam completely.

Heartless was quite good, but not the second coming everyone is describing here. It was a very good interpretation with good vocals of a good song.
Gokey's ....Beautiful was very iffy in the beginning pitch an phrase wise, but he has such a lovely falsetto that he turned it into a very fine vocal performance.
Adam hit both his perfs out of the park.

"The nail polish was TOTALLY Adam's doing, I'm sure of it I think it's insanely cute that Adam's freak side is rubbing off on him!"
I think you are right snl and I agree - super cute!

Stockard, do you not have text messaging? I texted over 400 votes last night.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2173
Posted: 5/13/09 at 6:35pmwith Danny's second song, it was SUCH a generic song choice and I don't think he brought anything new to the table with it. it sounds like every other slow Danny Gokey song. He is a one trick pony just like Reuben and Taylor before him.
