From a source who is a Steward on AA: It was the pilot that turned the plane around after Baldwin slammed the bathroom door in first class after the altercation.
Having worked many times with Mr Baldwin, he had to be provoked to act out.
I myself have run into Stewardesses from hell in my travels and I too have had verbal altercations with them, over simple things like asking them for my meal 5 minutes after they passed by while I was napping.

I was once on a plane where a minor hip-hop performer and his entire entourage were thrown off because he wouldn't turn off his phone before takeoff. (how minor was he? well, he was in coach with me!) I didn't even hear raised voices or anything. We just went back to the gate, they got off and the captain announced why.

I detest people who refuse to turn their phones or iPods off during takeoff and landing. If the rest of us can, why can't you? It's the height of narcissism.
I hate even more the idiots who keep their seats reclined during takeoff and landing. Like you've never flown before...yeah right.

I've actually had nothing but really good experience with AA Cabin Crew. And I fly AA alot (they are my American Domestic Airline of Choice).
The amusing thing is this would've been a first class Cabin Crew person, and in my experience when I've been in a Domestic First Class is it takes alot to ruffle the Cabin Crew's feathers. I'm guess from being delayed to begin with all tempers from all parties concerned where pretty freyed.
I actually love the old warhorses that are AA's trolley dolleys :) They certainly make the trip! I remember one MAI-DFW flight the old dear looked like she was going to tople over from handing out the soft drink cans as she looked that old and frail (but absolutely charming none the less!)

Posted: 12/8/11 at 8:58amHonestly? I can't stand people who think they're entitled to use their phones or other electronic gadgets whenever and wherever they please. Especially when they're holding up an entire flight to play a stupid game. Grow up and consider the people around you if you go out in public anywhere. I do think they can drop it now, but AA was in the right. The plane can't take off until all electronic devices are turned off. That's not a stewardess power-tripping, that's an FAA law. Baldwin should be ashamed of his behavior.

However, coming from a home where parents divorced on not too friendly terms, I am well aware the games that get played and how the kids can be used by one or both parties Against the other. I am very familiar with those types of phone calls from my Dad, berating me for a missed event or meeting. I also know that there were actions I did, whether on my own accord or at the prompting of my Mom and Step Dad that warranted that type of response.
Evidently it was not the word game that got him expelled from the plane but the slamming of the bathroom door the the pilots heard in the cockpit.

SNAFU, i don't need any background info on this, even if his daughter's behavior was snotty and "insubordinate." She was a child.
He called her a pig, twice. HIs 11 or 12-year-old (he can't remember which) daughter who "made him feel like sh*t" because she didn't answer her phone when he called to wish her a happy birthday.
He has anger management issues. No question about it.

It also takes a special kind if person to ruffle Jan Maxwell's feathers, and he managed to do that as well.
I adore AB's work on 30 Rock, but his off screen behavior is less than respectable, and when something like this is reported it is easy to assume that he is at fault.

Love him on 30 Rock (When I watch it) and I have just liked him all around. This incident made me lose respect for him. And now he has issued an apology to the passengers, but not the airline.
