CUDRAMACAT, I agree, bashing is only dividing this country that once was based upon the principles of diversity and the fellowship between men.
We should hit the reset button in America and go back to the way things used to be...every man working for the common good...not every man working for the good of himself (so screw the other guy).
Edit:
Couldn't have said it better Papa.

"And I would think a supposed Christian would care about the planet God created for us. I find it deeply sad that people like you are such a lemming on issues like the environment--it is NOT a partisan issue. Except when it comes to corporations who do not care what they are doing to the planet just to make another buck."
Prime example of liberal shrieking and Chicken Little tactics.
I never said I didn't care about the environment. I just don't agree with Al Gore's version of "the truth" or his way of handling it.

My point was not economics related or job related at all..it was more partisan related, in the fact that we all hate eachother for being what we are...and I think we need to just join hands and work together...agreements and disagreements alike.
Doesnt anyone else think it's odd that TWICE today a new poster started a thread to invoke heated debate, only to immediately ask for it to be deleted?
this is not bashing...you wanna see bashing? Ask who everyone's favorite Elphaba is.
I mention it only because...

Lets talk about politicians being hypocrites for a bit.
John Kerry claims to be a Catholic man. YET, he is FOR abortion, gay marriage, and basically everything else the Catholic church stands AGAINST.
Discuss.
Guys, you realize of course that this is a sock-puppet troll (hi, Jose!) baiting all the liberals to get them upset. It's considered a Republican sport among the Free Republic crowd, second only to going out quail-hunting and shooting your best friend in the face. (Ha, ha! A little liberal humor there, troll!)
Best thing to do is ignore them.
ugh. that'd be like me linking to the rawstory. sad.
but i do find the "but they do it too" defense a bit weak. i mean here are these hateful creatures who are the personification of all evil made flesh walking amongst us and when someone asks, "why so mean?" the response, "is because they are?" or, "so, they do it too!"
i guess that i'd like to think that you'd want to be different than that which you despise.

"John Kerry claims to be a Catholic man."
Ditto for Ted Kennedy. In the 1960's he gave several interviews saying abortion was morally wrong. Now he's gone to the other extreme.

Just Like Rudy Giuliani!

I think that says more about the schisms within the Catholic Church than anything else.
Yes, let's simplify and stereotype religion. Because as we all know, there is only ONE religious belief. There is ONLY the religious right. There isn't possibly a religious left out there.
And, goth, what exactly ARE Republicans going to do about Global Warming. And if you tell me there is no worry about Global Warming--that's it's just more chicken little liberal bs, you are a fool.

agreed. however What did Rudy do in his PROFESSIONAL CAREER that was 'un-catholic'...Oh you mean get rid of the trash in the city? Or do you mean restore morale to a city after distruction?
Thats right.
EDIT: JRB...Are you sweating yet? Then don't worry.

Let's not pretend that Guiliani was a perfect saint just because of 9/11. I know how 9/11 pulls at your conservative heartstrings and fools you into voting for...well--fools just because they repeat the phrase over and over and over again.
Thanks DG.
So what...I sing, if it makes you feel better to think of me as a minimum wage employee, go ahead. But, alas, I am actually one of the people who benefit financially from Bush's tax policies.
And cudramacat, I do not bash all Republicans. In fact, I may be considered, what in olden times was called a "Goldwater Republican."
There are some very fine Republicans, whose voices are often not heard because of the drone of the far-right media machine.
ETA: And, George Bush claims to be a Christian. That is the biggest joke of all.

George W Bush claims to be a Christian and that God made him President (through the "Activist Judges" I guess) yet George lies and sends people Iraq to kill and be killed. Some Christian!
YWIW, my father is also what might be considered a Goldwater Republican...and he's as disgusted with today's GOP as much as I am.
"JRB...Are you sweating yet? Then don't worry."
That is the most ignorant statement on the issue I have ever read. Congrats on reaching such an esteemed low, you absolute thinking-only-of-today-yea-for-greed-that-I-don't-actually-benefit-from MORON.

Try to undo all the dumb things that liberals have done. The countries that signed the Kyoto Treaty are now woefully regretting it. They realize there is no way they can meet the standards. Thank goodness we are dodging that bullet.
Perhaps if liberals are so worried about global warming they should be leaders in setting the example. The last time I was in Washington DC, I saw Ted Kennedy haul his fat butt out of his office and heave it into an SUV. Like he's real worried about global warming.
And at Cannes, when Al Gore was promoting his global warming film, he got in a car to ride five blocks. Hypocrite, thy name is Al Gore.

Do you actually believe for one minute that the fighting in Iraq is freeing our world from hatred? That has to be one of the most naive statements I've read today.

Ask all those women who were forced into Sadam's rape rooms.
Hey, Gotham, been to the Sudan lately?
