Posted: 9/20/09 at 4:35pmMost of the stuff in that store is WAY overpriced. If the prices were reduced to 50%, I might love it :P. I've always wanted to shop there though... maybe someday when I have a lot of money. :)

Posted: 9/20/09 at 4:54pmI'll be honest, I hadn't even heard of it until I read this thread. I got on their website and apparently the nearest one is 198 miles away from me. F*ck small town America.

Posted: 9/20/09 at 4:56pmLove their underwear and some of the not-quite-so-far-out stuff. It's overpriced, but a good place to get quality basics in a wide array of colors. (Okay, yes, I have the same henley in four colors, what's it to you!?)

I can only shop there in moderation. I usually only get one or two things at a time, and then build up my collection. Their v-necks are the best!

I also love the underwear. And yeah, it's nice to have the same shirt in four different colors. I love how bright a lot of their colors are.
Yes, I know it's over-priced, but I pretend not to notice that. They do send decent coupons to you if you sign up for their email thing, though.

Posted: 9/20/09 at 5:18pmI'm not wild about them for a few reasons-1. their clothes are too basic and plain for my taste. 2. their sizes run very small and are very clingy. 3. When the recession first hit, and every single store on the planet had a sale, they didn't. I went in and asked if they were planning one, and they said no.

It's "overpriced" because it's made in America by people making a minimum of $7.25 an hour instead of pennies a day in overseas sweatshops.
scott, I own the same shirt in 4 colors too. I wear at least one a week.

Posted: 9/20/09 at 5:42pmI walked into one for the first time in Stockholm and was embarrassed that it said American on the door. Purple and silver zebra striped leggings? I'll pass. Everything seemed ugly and very thin. I am sure they have some good pieces, but I was very unimpressed.

Jane- I agree with you as well. I am guessing you probably were looking in the girls section. Some of the girls stuff is OUT there. However, I think the boys collection is superior and it is unisex so girls can wear it also.
They just opened one in the mall by my town. I live in NJ and I live in a wealthy, mostly conservative town...when the suburban moms see the Legalize Gay shirts they get so offended...Love it!

Posted: 9/20/09 at 5:57pmCS-you're right, and there's another reason why I said that. There used to be one on my corner. Whenever I went in, all they had was basics- solid color shirts, pants, skirts. PLAIN. Nothing else. Then the store closed and I haven't been in one since. It seems that they've expanded their vision. I'll have to go in another branch soon!

Posted: 9/20/09 at 5:57pmI'm very interested in some V-Necks but there are no stores around me & I don't have a credit card. Does Manhattan REALLY need 16 stores?

Posted: 9/20/09 at 5:59pmH&M and American Apparel are the only underwear I buy. American Apparel briefs and boxer briefs are sooooo comfortable. And come in so many fun colors. Hot pink briefs? Yes, please!

Hopefully. We have a spot where whatever goes in is gone within 6 months.
The only thing I see that is really overpriced is the pants.

Yet they recently got busted for employing illegal aliens. Why would they do that if they're paying so well and are operating above board?

Posted: 9/21/09 at 11:11amThe company has taken an outspoken stance on immigration reform for years, like in their Legalize LA campaign. Just because the employees weren't in the country legally doesn't mean they were being abused.
