I thoroughly enjoyed last nights show. My absolute favorite was the beginning girl, who sang the National Anthem--my god, funniest thing I have ever seen. She started so high that by the time she got to "see" she already had to change key. So horribly great!
On the subject of it being staged, I agree and think that some of the people had to be staged. BUT-I do have to say I definitely dont think that last girl, (in the red shirt and white pants) was staged. She definitely has to be classified special ed, in some way-be it a mild case of whatever--there was no way that girl was acting. My roomate was saying she is a real life Mary Katherine Gallagher. How right on is that? I felt bad for her, I mean how embarassing, and her dreams seemed to be truly shattered, but I couldn't stop watching, you know?
is it on again tonight? :)

The guys on the radio station I listen to were talking about the last girl much more than everyone else this morning. They also were doubting the validity of that one guy being Toni Braxton's cousin. Why would you say that on a national t.v. show if it wasn't true, though, right?
If, indeed, it is staged to an extent, it just boggles my brain how some of them have the nerve to get up there knowing how awful they really are. They'd have to pay me a nice hefty amount to embarrass myself like that.

I don't know about it being staged as in they bring them in. But they do pass along the horrible singers for comedic effect.
I had a good friend make it to the second round of auditions last year in NYC and she said that the people around her that got passed on to the TV section of the auditions were some of the commically bad ones. She herself was told she had too much training to go on and they felt they couldn't shape her. Pity too cause she had a beautiful voice and I had the pleasure of sharing the stage with her 3 times in school. But she noted that they were passing on and giving hope to the tone deaf just to get them on camera.

They just said no to two really good singers. Whats with that?
And Simon saying their fat is crossing the line of sying it like it is. That has nothing to do with their singing.
