re: American Idol

The last girl of the first episode was hysterial, ir somewhat scary. Mary Roache, I think her name was. When they told her to go, she started talking about the voices in her head, and how she'll make it on Broadway, and such. That moment was aided by the fact that they added some Bernard Hermann music in the background.

I'm happy that the mother got in. She had a very good voice. I thought it was odd that they asked her husband to come in, but it was nice that he supports her.

re: American Idol

It may not be a real talent show but its a heck of a TV SHOW..

As expected, the expanded fourth-season premiere of American Idol lifted Fox to victory with a mammoth 20.1/28 in the overnights, 33.45 million viewers and a 14.0/33 among adults 18-49 according to the fast affiliate ratings from 8-10 p.m. Compared to American Idol's 75-minute season three opener on Monday, Jan. 19, 2004 (Overnights: 17.2/24; Viewers: 28.96 million; A18-49: 12.9/30 from 8-9:15 p.m.), that was an increase of 17 percent in the overnights, 4.49 million viewers and 9 percent among adults 18-49.

re: American Idol

Those auditions are just SO entertaining!! They could make a series just titled, "auditions of Idol" Once the auditions are over and it's down to the top 12, watch the ratings go wayyyyyy down.

and what was with that little 16 year old that came in singing?? hmm lol could NOT believe he got through! and anyone else notice that Simon was in an even more pissy mood than usual at the St. Louis auditions?!
Peter: Oh my god, Brian! My Alphabits are sending me a secret message! They say "oooooooooo!" Brian: Peter, those are Cheerios.

re: American Idol

I seriously have not heard anyone remotely close to those of the first two seasons in terms of talent. I am dissapointed. I am not going to watch anymore after the auditions (like I did last year). I didn't like anyone last year and so far no one has stuck out for me to root for.

re: American Idol

I am with you spiderdj82. I only watch the auditions.
"At the opening night party, they had clowns on stilts, jugglers, a chocolate fountain, popcorn, hot dogs. [My son] looked at me like I had been holding back. Like, 'This is what you do?' I had to tell him, 'No, no, darling. Opening nights don't usually look like this.' It's usually a dark bar with a bottle of vodka." ?Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's Jan Maxwell plus i proudly share the title of the shortest member over the age of 10 with wickedrentq!

re: American Idol

Yeah. I didn't even watch the first season, only the VERY last show. Then I rooted for Clay and voted for him but since then it has just been "Blah!" Oh, just call me "Spider" or "DJ." re: American Idol
