Scott--American Nightmare

Scott is such a smirking, cocky Ahole. Did you see him when they were running Constantine's clips? COnstantine was the most original, theatrical, talented person this season. Ugh. Vonzell or Bo better win.
#52

Scott--American Nightmare

I'm absolutely disgusted. It was Constantine's to lose. Scott sucks. I'm really not sure I'm interested in this season anymore. The only one left who deserves to win is Bo.

Carrie has a great voice, but is extremely dull--too tense.
Vonzell and Anthony have great voices--when on pitch, but are also a lil dull
Scott SUCKS.

And can we PLEASE stop being nasty about Scott's weight? There's no need to bash heavy people in all of this.

I knew last night the second Simon opened his mouth and told Scott to pack his bags that he would not be going home. But I also thought that just maybe Carrie would be going home because she was the least memorable. But anyway.. I didn't get to watch tonight because it is 10 pm here and I just got home from work. And now I am not going to. WHo was in the bottom three?

Scott--American Nightmare

At this point, I almost want Scott to win, just to be able to watch the resulting trainwreck of 19E trying to make a career for him. They deserve him at this point. If Vonzell leaves before Scott, there is no justice in the world.

Back in February, someone on another board I read predicted that this year, the winner would be a white male. 3/5 says that the whole show is a conspiracy.

Scotty Boy is still in the running for the same reason that O.J. was found not guilty, Michael Jackson will walk, George Bush was re-elected, Paris Hilton and Anna Nicole Smith have their own shows, Jeff Foxworthy is the #1 bestselling comedian in the country, and Hew Haw was the longest running entertainment show in syndication.

Because of Republicans?

Exactly. Look at Ruben. There are so many other reasons to knock Scott without resorting to insults about his girth. Granted, his unattractive appearance isn't because he's big; his composure is sloppy and his demeanor is unapproachable and uncharismatic. But being fat has nothing to do with it.

>> Could we please not make fat comments? Scott sucks because of his voice and attitude--not because he is heavy. <<

Scott, is that you?

I'm just messing. Well, partially. Being fat is only one reason why I loathe the guy.

Another reason is one or two weeks ago when Simon insulted him and Scott said, "Hey, half of America didn't have the guts to get up here and do what I'm doing, so don't talk to me like that."

...

I mean. Did he call us all pussies?

"Because of Republicans?"

No. Because of the intelligence (or lack thereof) of the American public. What an ignorant country we live in! I know it's not a popular thing to say, but I'm ashamed of this country, and it's people, more than I'm proud.

America... this is your next American Idol. And you so deserve him!
Considering America's "Batterd Wife" mentality, it couldn't be more apropos.

Yeah, I love how a gang banger/female basher (what a loser!) is Americas vision of an "Idol".

um....did AI ever matter?

I never got into this...watched a few episodes, but never understood why so many people live for it.

then again, I am still a Melrose Place groupie, so...I have no room to talk

First of all...do we think this could have happened because Constantine's band signed a record deal??? Does no one else smell conspiracy theory here???

And yes...let's not make fun of Scott's weight. I much prefer to point out that this wife-beater has 'a touch of the Downs'.

Thank you Elphaba, I was about to say exactly the same thing. I never realized American Idol mattered (or was taken so seriously). If the votes are left to the audience, who would assume the most talented would ever be chosen? The moment the contestants make it to the air, it's a popularity contest and nothing more.

Ya'll who are threatening to never watch AI again...like that's really gonna effect the show and it's ratings? Don't watch it. WHO CARES! You'll be joining half of America who has never watched this show.
Also, keep in mind that in past seasons, people BETTER than Constantine were voted off (Jennifer Hudson, Kimberly Locke, etc. Jennifer was better than Fantasia and Kimberly was definately better than Ruben)
I think Scott has a nice voice - and keep in mind that he has a lot of pressure up there, being the most unattractive of the group, and overweight. He does not have it easy like the other contestants that everyone is "So in love" with. And I know many disagree, but I think his voice is more pleasant to listen to than Constantine's.
Regardless, Simon looked like a fool by telling Scott to pack his bags, because he's going home. That shows that America does not agree with him, like he thinks.
And for those of you ragging on Scott's looks...have you posted a picture here on the web? Can you say that you are better looking without having to hide behind your Avatar?
"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

"First of all...do we think this could have happened because Constantine's band signed a record deal??? Does no one else smell conspiracy theory here??? "

Actually, because he made it into the Top 10, Constantine is bound to his contract with 19E and they get first dibs on a recording contract with him. He didn't sign with his band and there's no way 19E will let him break his contract with them to get back with his band, since they know millions of fangirls will pay their parents' $$ to see him on tour.

I can honestly say I DO look better than Scott.

The man can't even open his eyes.

I agree with Robbie, he does look like he's got Down Syndrom

Justice... how many votes did you call in for Scott? Where do you live? Are you male or female? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm just trying to get a hold on where all of his votes are coming from. You appear to be the only poster on here who appreciates his... ummm... talent. Not that there's anything wrong with marching to the beat of your own drum, mind you. Just wondering if you bother to vote. To be perfectly honest with you, I don't. I just don't care enough about any of the marginally talented performers on this show to get up off my fat ass and pick up the phone. (But it's fun bitching about it, nonetheless.) As far as I'm concerned they should all be performing at Six Flags. Except for Scott. He'd scare the s#!t out of the kids.

They should change it up and let us vote for the one we want kicked off.

THEN, I would vote

Could it be that people voted just to prove Simon wrong? That has happened in other seasons as well.

I'm with you Curtain Up: Whoever is casting their votes for Scott, please explain why. My only thought is that a lot of women with self-esteem issues are making those calls. I can't really imagine that people prefer his performances to the others.

I am almost hoping now he wins...I'd love to see the make over that AI would have to do on him for that first record. And what would his single be? Is there a vocal version of "Dueling Banjos"?

:: looks over at avatar ::

Yep, that's me. *whew* Now I can speak openly, it seems, since I'm so dreamy.

I'm in NE Ohio, Savol country, if you will.

While it would be rude to say EVERYONE voting for Scott is somewhat on the poor white trash side, I will say everyone I know, here in Ohio, that's voting for Scott fits that description.

And trust me. There's lots of 'em.

Sort of like locusts.

When he's on pitch he's a tolerable singer. He's not on pitch regularly though and he's completely devoid of charisma. He makes one sweeping arm gesture over and over and he continually looks at *something* down and to his left. He doesn't engage the audience as much as perform AT them, instead of FOR them.

In other words, he stinks.
#74

Scott--American Nightmare

I've strongy disliked Scott since the first time I heard him speak, but I have to agree with Justice that he doesn't have a bad voice. But on the other hand, in the music business you have to have more going for you than a decent voice, and he doesn't.

But what really sucks is that if voting keeps going like this, Vonzell will be the next to go.
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson

Anthony is, for my money, a bland performer and not worthy of being in the top 5. Neither is Bo, but at least he has an interesting voice, although his "I Don't Wanna Be" was very shaky. Constantine's "My Funny Valentine" and "How You Remind Me" were disasters, but his "Bohemian Rhapsody" was excellent.

Vonzell is my current favorite, but I'm very disappointed with this season's contestants.
