Scott--American Nightmare

"Whoever is casting their votes for Scott, please explain why."

I was talking about this with my mom today, and she told me that Scott's ex-girlfriend could be telling all of her friends and family and co-workers to vote for him. Obviously I asked why she thought this, seeing as how the creep hit her and all. And my mom brought up the interesting point that if Scott did win, and became successful, he would have to pay a lot more money in child support than the average joe would. I mean, look at P. Diddy, he was just ordered to pay the mother of one of his kids $21,000 a month!

Scott--American Nightmare

When I watch Scott perform I laugh at him like it's a SNL skit.......
I want Bo to win :)

Scott--American Nightmare

How is he still on the show if he was arrested for something like that?

That one guy from Season Two was taken out because he was arrested - I can't remember his name but he was Justin Gaurini V 2.0

In Defense of Savol

I will justify why I vote for Scott.

A: Personally, I like his voice. I think he is one hell of a singer when he puts his heart and soul into it. True, there are nights where he does not do so, but, when he does, he sounds great. I happen to like the R&B sound, and that is something he has, unlike Constatine, who had a Broadway style voice, or Bo, who has the "rocker" voice. That is my preference of music, and would love to hear his cd when it comes out.

B: For those of you dissing Scott's voice, I would like to know if you honestly think Brittany Spears has a good one. And if you don't, then tell me, why do her abums sell? If you say that its looks that make people buy her stuff, well, as Effie Melody White says in Dreamgirls, you don't LOOK at a record! Which gets to the point of Scott's looks. True, he is not the greatest looking person in the group, but when saying that someone needs more than a good voice, is that what matters? And for those that mention his hand gestures...Um, are we forgetting that Clay Aiken kept switching his mic into different hands every three seconds EVERYTIME he performed, not to mention the smarmy looks he had on his face everytime he sang. Clay sure as hell wasn't the most attractive person that season, either - nor was Ruben, but girls seem to love them. And let me not start on Ruben, who was so boring - all he would do when he sang was stand there and sway. Even in interviews, the guy has no personality. Why do people like him? Because he's a big teddy bear? Because he certainly wasn't the best singer of the group.

I'm not saying Scott is the best. Nor am I saying that he is going to be in the finale. But, In My Opinion, I prefer listening to him over Constantine, Bo, and even Anwar, who, for some reason, on my tv sounded awful everytime he tried to do his own thing with the songs. I want Scott to make it as far as he can. I want him to succeed, because he does not have it easy. That is quite obvious, thanks to this thread, because for every post on here calling him fat, scary, laughing like they're watching an SNL skit, etc., I am sure that there are many other people who say that, and I am also sure that he himself has heard these things, which doesn't do well on the self esteem.

There is some cruelty on this board that makes posters sound superficial and shallow - comparing him to someone with Down Syndrom, or even calling him Fat Scott. (For the people comparing him to DS - do you even KNOW people who have Down Syndrome to be making such a rude and ignorant statement?) The maturity level on this thread is so low, I would think that these posters haven't even started high school. Unless this is the trickle down theory of people here getting picked on, so they find someone else to pick on. As for people calling him arrogant and cocky...Well, he is up there, and has competed with thousands of people to get where he is at. Arrogant? I don't see that. Proud? Yes, and he has every right to be.

Curtain Up - in answer to your questions:
That night, I called in twice. I live in NYC. I am a male.

I don't care that I'm in the minority here. I'm not asking people to like Scott. We all have our opinions...but, damn the negativity if there ever was some. It's so messed up. It's only a tv show, people. The way some of you are stressing out over this...I have a number to a great therapist.

P.S. ADAM, the guy was Corey Clark. He was arrested and charges were against him at the time of taping.
The charges for Scott happened a while back - Way before American Idol. Same thing went with Trenyce from Season 2. She, as well, had a record for shoplifting, but, because it was years before, was never made an issue of by the producers.

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

Actually, the difference between Scott and Corey Clark, etc., is that they disclosed the arrest to the AI producers, and Clark did not. It was lying that got him kicked-off the show, not his record. I'm thrilled that Constantine is gone. Hated his performance style with a passion.

Uh, yea Justice, I do. A cousin and a nephew, both of whom I adore. They are sweet, gentle and loving people.

Scott is a talentless wife beater.

Justice - the main reason Britney sells so many records or did in the past anyway, is because of the way she looks. I'm not saying it's right. It sucks, but that's just the way it is. That's all I was trying to say. I don't dislike Scott because of his looks, but because of his personality.

Although, I have to admit, I like some of Britney's songs. Toxic to name one.
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson

I'm not worried about Brittany...
She smokes...so, in a couple of yeras, she'll look older than she really is, and will be a has-been.

Scott is a wife beater. there is no excuse for that. I have hated him since day one and it has nothing to do with the fact that he can stand to loose about 70 pounds.

I was under the impression that it was his girlfriend. Correct me if I'm wrong, but was Scott married to her?

Well, I'm sure you have done some wrong things in your past. No one is pure and innocent.

Again, I NEVER said I was perfect. Where did you get that from?

Well yes

You're right that no one is pure and innocent and everyone does make mistakes... but I haven't done something as wrong as hitting another person in my past. What he did wasn't a mistake, it was battering of a woman and that is worse than "wrong things in my past".

Well yes

That's an opinion.
I'm not saying it's right, but...
Okay, I'm not religious, and I don't assume others are...but, according to the Bible - a sin is a sin, which makes lying just as equal as killing. That is an example for what I'm trying to say. If that doesn't make sense, then I'll go with the famous adage of "Cast the first stone"
We all do some f*cked up sh*t, and Scott - as you all can tell from the mug shots - has paid his price. That said, he shouldn't have that held against him.

Okay justice... I like you're point

But even putting all that beside... I don't like his voice and I think he is the worst contestant there, and that being said... I think this is the worst American Idol show I have ever seen. Obviously, people agree with you out there, because he is still on the show... but I don't like him, his voice and that is the end of it.

Oh Justice. Let me let him come over and slap you around a little bit. Tell me then if his mug shot then makes you feel any better. He is a horrid singer. Horrid. Would you ever buy a record of his? Would you want your son or daughter buying a record of his?

Well yes

Justice, the line is "Nobody can see her on a record." And I just love the way Lilias White delivers it on the Dreamgirls Concert CD.

I'm on the fence on this issue. I'm disgusted by the personal attacks on Scott, but they man can not sing well enough for this stage of AI. I love R&B music, but talent is talent. He has shown no growth. He's not humble at all, seems to have a chip on his shoulder, and only seems to care for himself (evidenced by his lack of concern for the out-going/bottom 3 contestants). He has toooo many negative marks.

Britney spears... she can't sing a lick, but she can dance and give you a show--something! Atleast she tries to appear somewhat grounded and greatful for the opportunities she's been given. Had Britney came out with Scott's same attitude she wouldn't have lasted long.

The show is rigged. There is always someone who stays longer than they should've. And if it's not rigged Simon pulled what he did to Jasmine Trias last year by telling her she was going to leave in order to rally the fans for an upset. Simon is a smart man, and he knows his comments effect the outcome. I expect him to tell Scott he did good next week, then he will be gone. If people in fact are voting for him as a joke, I'm sure the producers will step in.

Ain't that the truth.

You voted for Scott.
