I went to the taping of Idol tonight. Beyond amazing. I'm writing a detailed review, that I'll post later if anyone wants to read :)
A few thoughts on tonight (and Idol overall)
- Adam Shankman was in the house! So, so sweet. Also in- David Duchovny
-Ryan Seacrest is SO petite!
- Siohban Magnus gives off a really bad vibe. Like huge ego vibe.
- Miley pre-taped her performance, I was in the mosh pit, and although I dislike her, she sounds way better live than on TV.
- Joe Jonas & Demi Lovato? LOVED them. I'm not a huge fan of theirs, but the romantic tension was almost tangible. And both were sweet to us in the pit after the performance.
- Nicest Idols? Tim, Andrew, Aaron, Crystal, Big Mike, Lee & Casey.....
-Tim Urban is not as boring as he comes off to be.. after last night, I'm actually a fan.

Interesting since Crystal is the one the judges are saying gives off a somewhat negative vibe.

Ryan is petite as in fit or short? i think both.
I believe it about Tim - he comes off extremely genuine. nice guy, nice family, and i see star in him. tween star. he is cute too. I wouldn't have chosen him for his voice, but it is not terrible and he ticks all the other boxes
As far as Shioban I am not surprised. The judges may say that about Crystal, but they don't really know her. I mean Kara gave Tim **** for shaking hands of the tweens who wanted to touch him.

I was glad to see Katie in the bottom over Andrew tbh. she has to go too.

as for Katie, i really don't think she should have made it in over Lilly. she was in the bottom the whole way and Lilly wasn't, and then Lilly went. When I heard Lilly, i found her so original and I would know her instantly.
I agree about Crystal. when they talk about "wrong song choice" i hate that. if one can sing, they can sing anything. Crystal can sing anything i reckon, because she has IT. If a song choice is going to make someone, then I don't think that is a great reason. Regardless of Katie's younger song choice, she can't sing well enough. She blew me away before the live shows though, so I am not sure why she seems to be so off key now.

Really? Crystal seemed really sweet, she was always in smiles, on camera or off camera. Cory the warm up guy, brought this cute little 5 yr. old onstage and Crystal was hugging him and playing with him, along with waving and smiling at the audience. She also interacted alot with the other contestants, which can't be said for Siohban.
Siohban was always looking grim, and she just had the same smug look on her face.

Ahaha. I don't know about that clip, but everyone was just waiting for them to kiss at the end. Joe was facing us the entire time, and let me tell you, the eyes he was giving her!! Someone next to me said "He's giving her sex eyes!" during the performance. lol

thanks for your answers. ryan appears skinny, eh? i can see that. he works out like a mad man in between his five jobs. i didn't mean it as a slight about you all being tweens. i do see it as tim's base. i know there are people in the pit :) . is it me, because from the way i saw it tim wasn't exactly grasping at anyone to like him - they wanted to shake his hand. he is so well natured. i would have wanted to say " Kara, was i supposed to not touch or shake hands to people who reached out to me because I AM NOT ENTITLED TO DO SO YET" that really pissed me off. honestly.
i think Simon is shorter too than people imagine. has Randy gained weight back? does Ellen look older in person? i think she looks great. is Kara trying too hard to be like Paula with her and Simon hanging on eachother it seems so. or is Simon trying to re create that all too phoney chemistry.
oh - is Lee as good as Simon says when you see him live?
who are your top female and male live - well, we agree Crystal i think... but male? i think Casey sounds like larry the lamb.

Piper3500: Simon isn't that tall, but he's not short. Average. And Randy has gained some weight! When he walked in, all I could see was his face (I was near the stage) but after the show, he went to hug Paige, and I was surpried to see that he had a noticalble tummy.
Ellen looks very old, even with the mass amount of makeup she wears (believe me, it's ALOT) you can still see some wrinkles, and she just reads older. Which is weird, since you can't really tell on tv.
I didn't really pay attention to Kara, being that it was results night, the judges didn't talk alot, and they leave for every commercial break, so they're hardly there.
Didn't see them perform live, since it was results night, unless you count the group performance live, which is totally not! Very,very obvious that the contestans were lip singing.
Favorite male contestant? Didn't have one until Wed. when Tim Urban won me over! :) and I can't say anything bad about Casey or Lee, since they were the sweeetest! Haha. And Casey looks way hotter live than on camera!

Siobhan is my favorite female and I love her but that wasn't her best performance. I will still vote for her though.
Casey just rocked it out...I adore him, he makes me smile and that was fantastic.
