This week's Time Magazine has an in-depth article on a cousin of the Tsarnaevs who lives in Dagestan, who may have bee the radicalizing influence on Tamerlan--or mya be the guy whotried to talk him out of it!

His name is Magomed Kartashov, and his story is well worth reading.

I've been doing a lot of research on Eva Peron lately and this kind of reminded me of what happened with her body. She was so adored (obviously this is not the case here) and so hated that her body became a weapon, and the Peronists and Anti-Peronists fought over her for years. I don't understand the attachment to bodies. The person is no longer occupying it, but I guess it's the strongest proof that they once existed.

Glinda, a similar thing happened with the body of Mussolini (after the whole hanging upside down, being spat on part). It seems particular to fascist states, where the seat of government essentially resides in one person. The body of that person afterward can be a powerful totem, to bother supporters and enemies.

I've been fixated on the kind of mentality that would go to the trouble of creating a sign that said "If you bury the body on US soil we will dig it up" and then hanging outside the funeral home waving it. Really, idea-thinker-upper/sign maker? That is an act you would actually warn people you're capable of?

Then again, we see it right on this board with the person trying to demonstrate a deeper hatred of the dead bomber than everybody else with the epithet "terrorist sympathizer" ready to launch the minute she's called on it. It's a race to show who hates most. Yet another pathology for the heap.
