It is weird how he manages to be a complete gay dork and yet sometimes be hot.

Update: Woh. That last one...there was NOTHING strangely attractive about that at all.

Ulgh.

I still say Beer Bad was one of the worst episodes.

You guys have a bit of a point, but it still was one of the worst seasons, IMO. (think what it's competing against). I didn't appreciate it until season 7, which was worse.

Yes I hated Riley because he wasn't Angel. But in season 5, I loved the idea of Spike--better than Riley anyway. Really what they realized about their relationship was the problem I had with their relationship--there was no way Buffy felt the way about him that she did with Angel. He was just boring in comparison. And ugly. There I said it. I think he's ugly :-P He couldn't hold Buffy's interest, and he couldn't hold mine either.

I guess looking back you guys have a point about the rest of the season though.

Nah, there were still things that I think rightfully bothered me. I missed Cordelia, and Anya seemed like a replacement and putting her with Xander just increased that. She grew more to her own character as the series went on, but not in the beginning. I don't know something about...she had good reason to be so insensitive or whatever, not being human, but Cordelia was human and still like that...I don't know.

Didn't like Tara till season 5. It's not that I was upset Willow was gay or anything, but Tara like Riley was a bore. You could say she was like Willow was at the beginning of the series, but they didn't carry that point.

Another problem with the initiative was just, who's really the big bad...you think it's what-her-face, but then halfway through the season, it became Adam. Again, I would have preferred if it stayed with her as the big bad. It would have been the first time a human was a big bad, and again, just exploring human nature in that way, I think Walsh(that's it), could have been a much more interesting big bad. Adam was just...Frankenstein reincarnated. Blah.

And yeah, the separation did upset me, but looking back I do see that was natural. Even with my strong dislike of season 4, there were some great episodes--Hush, Something Blue, the Faith 2-parter to name a few.

And it was really depressing seeing Giles that season. He became a demon, he became blind, he had no job, etc.

My favorite part of that season was Spike. I think I really liked him best that season--still evil, but forced into Xander's basement. Heh.

It's like some issues I had with season 6 to a degree. It was a great, intelligent season, but some of those episodes were too dark to watch.
