No worries, Sooner, like I said, I pretty much knew she was gonna be back. And I love that she's a woman, someone to set put him in his place. Like she said in the first episode, he sometimes needs someone to stop him.

And yeah, I did realize that was The Face of Boe, but I didn't write it cause I had no idea how to spell "Boe"! But now I do!

See, I disagree about Martha. It wasn't until her family was tortured that she decided to leave. Remember when he took the Tardis into her room and he was going to leave her, she had a FIT. Also, there are many times where Martha would say something like, "I wish he would look at me like that," etc. Donna was the only one, in my opinion, that had her feet on the ground.

Useless factoid, the reason (or excuse) for Tennant's accent is that he regenerated after absorbing the energy out of Rose and in the process took on a little bit of her-manifest in her accent. Silly but still... I'd also have prefered a Scottish Doctor.

Just finished Season Three! Woo hoo! I like how they are now ending/starting the new seasons with "What...what....WHAT?"

It wasn't until her family was tortured that she decided to leave.

She was the only one of the three main companions to never say "forever". The Doctor didn't give her purpose; she had one before she started and she kept it. The timing of her leaving was decided by the Master, but she would have done it at some point, crush or no crush.


And no, Jack is not the Face of Boe, thankfully. RTD said he pretty much put in that line for the lols.

but she didn't continue the "purpose" she had prior to meeting the Doctor. She became, pretty much, a soldier and that was due to what she experienced with the Master. And how do we know that she didn't want stay forever. She kept wanting him to take her to more and more places. Just because the word "forever" didn't get spoken by her, didn't mean that she wanted to go back to her normal life.

Spider do you mean the new series or the new special? The next special is coming up around November sometime, the new series won't be on in the UK until next year -- they're supposed to start filming in July I think.

Oh, the Face of Boe thing...I like to pretend that I don't know that. For many reasons, not the least of which is the fact that the Face of Boe gets pregnant. And I don't like to think of Jack as having to go on for millions of years before he gets to die. It completely ruins my shipping for Torchwood.

The last two specials are going to air in the UK Christmas-New Year's 09. It's a two part episode, and judging by the rumors flying round about various guest stars, it sounds like it's going to be a very full couple of episodes!

Atrias, I tend to agree with you. The idea of Jack living that long -- and considering how he spent close to a thousand years buried underground -- makes me a bit sad.

So, netflix FINALLY sent me the first three discs of season four, and I'm about to start watching the episode about the Doctors daughter. BUT, I just had to say, well, two things really...
The episode with the Ood is probably my favorite episode yet. The whole thing with the circle, and them singing was so beautiful.
AND, in the episode where Martha brings the Doctor back and he's got the gas mask on and asks "are you my mummy" I nearly died laughing. Very, very clever indeed. *sighs* I love this show.

Makes me laugh every time I see that scene.

One of my favorites from series 4 is The Unicorn and the Wasp, which is after The Doctor's Daughter. Oh, and a bit of advice, Chrys -- don't watch Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead in the dark -- by yourself.

At first I didn't think I heard it right. Like my mind was playing tricks on me, so I had to rewind it, and sure enough there it was. Haha...I would love to know if that was scripted or an ad lib. Either way, it's brilliant.

And thanks for the tip! My sleep habits are already on the fritz, the last thing I need is to stay awake til dawn.

I watched that "extended interview" on the "forbidden" site with Matt Smith. My god, he looks SO young. I can see why they chose him, there are quite a few physical similarities between him and David Tennant. I must admit, I'm very curious to see where he takes it.
