That BBC Drama sounds really interesting. It's only a 4-part program, so if Rex gets picked up there should be no conflict.
For those who liked Blink, I found this video through Blogtor Who -- think Blink made you nervous around statues? Wait until you see this!! There's a familiar voice doing the narration...
Weeping Angels
That is really creepy. Especially since the girl was walking around in a graveyard.
OMG, I LOVE the new trailer
Hey, Spider, welcome back from your NY Adventure!
Yes, the new trailer is great. I am soooo looking forward to seeing what Moffat has in store for us.
Guitar Girl, you're right it is very creepy!

I can't believe no one's posted the divinely ridiculous new trailer for the next series.

Huh. I honest to goodness did not see that.
For once in my life I'm not digging for every spoiler I can find, so I'm hoping that when the next series rolls around it'll be a pleasant surprise.
This will be the first series that I'll actually be able to anticipate (not counting the last three specials). I didn't even know about Doctor Who when the previous series aired.
Although I kind of messed up on not getting spoilers when "The Stolen Earth/Journey's End" became the second Doctor Who episode I watched. But I didn't know it was significant at the time.
I love you guys for keeping this thread so active. Definitely helps in feeding my newfound Who obsession. :)
I've been thinking...in regards to this new trailer, it's pretty cool, but I actually like the first trailer they showed better, just because it shows more clips from the actual season. Although I really like Matt Smith's line "Everywhere & anywhere. Every star that ever was... Where do you want to start?" That whole adventure aspect is one of the most exciting things about the series.
Apparently this teaser trailer was filmed in 3D to be seen in the cinemas over the next few weeks.
That's pretty cool, actually. I didn't know that. But that whole thing looks like it would be completely mind-blowing in 3-D.
I couldn't get the volume up loud enough for the Weeping Angels vid---is that JB? Or did my ears deceive me?
And the news about David starring in a new series is great---I hope they put it out on DVD, or show it on BBCA!
And that new trailer is AWESOME!!! I've never been so glad for an early Easter as I am now!!!
I believe it's John Barrowman.
Easter is going to be fun. New Doctor. I can't wait!
It seems they are taking Doctor Who back to it's roots where it is more sci-fi heavy instead of night-time drama with sci-fi added in.

Doctor Who was originally intended to be somewhat educational, believe it or not - that's why they wanted the historical serials. Of course, they gave up on that idea pretty quickly and just did the historical serials for fun.
But it was never emotionless "hard" sci-fi, either. It's pretty much the most unscientific sci-fi this side of The Middleman, bless its socks. It's just that the soap aspects - and certainly the idea of who the Doctor wuved the most - were never remotely at the center of things before New Who came along. And I'd be totally happy to have things go back to best friends bouncing around time and space. That's why Donna's season was such a delight.
Yes, it's JOhn Barrowman in the Weeping Angels video narrating as Capt. Jack. He talks about how the angels would have a feast with him if they sent him back in time. Because he's more or less immortal, the angels would get a lot of mileage out of the days they might steal from him.
I have to admit that I was pretty on board with the whole Doctor/Rose thing up through Doomsday, in a "this can only end in heartbreak" sort of way. I'm less thrilled with...everything Rose-related after that, though. I think there are a few selected times where the Doctor's mourning for Rose is handled well (in "Runaway Bride" and the scene with Jack in "Utopia"), but could have done without all of the random you're-not-good-enough mentions to Martha in series 3. Martha was awesome, and I totally get that the Doctor would keep some emotional distance after getting so intensely involved and being hurt, but that's a case where showing works better than telling. And the end of series 4 just dulled most of the emotional impact of "Doomsday."
That said, Donna's season was a complete breath of fresh air and I absolutely loved her relationship with the Doctor.

Donna's season is my favorite. Rose and Martha got kind of annoying after awhile in regards to the romance aspect (Rose after Series 2, mostly), though series 1-3 had enough good stories to not make it a terrible thing. There's still a lot of adventure.
If this season has lots of good stories, then I'll be happy.
And I love the two scenes mentioned above from "Runaway Bride" and "Utopia". If they had left it at that...
UK broadcast is currently penciled in for 3rd of April (though this could still change!) - no idea when BBC America will follow suit, but hopefully you shouldn't have too long to wait
And I'd be totally happy to have things go back to best friends bouncing around time and space.
Me too!

David Tennant Signs Up for 'Retreat'
That movie sounds fantastic!!!! David and Jason Isaacs??? I will be in heaven! And Thandie Newton is a wonderful actress---I wish the movie was done---I really want to see it now!!!
It does sound fantastic, doesn't it. Very much looking forward to it.
I really want to see it as well. I wonder if they'll release it in the U.S. or only in the U.K. as they did with "Glorious 39".
