I pullled out my John Barrowman albums and MY GOD I forgot how much I love this man's voice.
He's got a new one coming out March 1. Showtunes.
I had a customer order a John Barrowman cd last week, and I fell out of my chair!
LOL... did you have a nice discussion about the man?
She had no idea who he was, so I went on and on---I think she knows his life story now, lol!
This is quite random, but I was thinking about "Silence In the Library/Forest of the Dead" and about how River Song didn't recognize the Doctor. I wonder if she thought he was a future regeneration of Eleven...
That's actually one of the things I'm most exited for in the new series. I want to see how the Doctor and River Song meet, and who she is to him.
I thought she recognized him right off the bat when she says, "hello sweetie."
I wonder if she thought he was a future regeneration of Eleven...
I never thought of it that way. I actually thought that she knew him later as Ten and that was something the writers would have to cover for plotwise. I can't remember whether she ever says she doesn't recognize him, just that he's a lot different. It makes more sense for her to think that he was a future regeneration.
That whole 'hello sweetie' thing got me confused.
Although she did say that she called the Doctor and got the wrong version. Perhaps she said that because she knew he was the Doctor. The Doctor might have told her about the regeneration thing, which would explain why she wonder about his change in appearance.
She also said that this (him being Doctor #10) was the youngest she'd ever seen him, and she seemed surprised by that, so I'm guessing she never saw him like that before.
At first I thought she met him as Ten, but then when The End of Time aired and she wasn't involved at all, I either thought that the writers messed up or that she thought he was a future regeneration.
Very strange, but I still find the Doctor's future being River Song's past one of the coolest things in the show.
Double post, but I think this is pretty worth it.
The air date for the new Doctor Who season in the U.S. has been announced. It's April 17th (two weeks later than the U.K., which isn't terrible):
Doctor Who U.S. Air Date
No, it's not terrible, especially when it was worse before the specials. Interestingly enough, they didn't give a time.
Spider, beware reading that Torchwood book. I've only just started it, and it's NOT a book to read before going to bed!
April 17th??? Yippee!!!!!!!

I am pleasantly surprised with April 17th! I honestly figured it would be longer.
OMG. I have no clue if this was posted but I am fangirl squealing

Wow, I'm surprised it's still up. I thought ITunes would have had it removed by now. Isn't great, though?
Got to get that album!
I wish he would release more albums in the States---though they are available as imports!
John's new CD is available tomorrow, but be advised that "The Doctor and I" is not on the CD. It's an I-TunesUK exclusive, which means except for that link Spider posted, it is NOT available to anyone outside the UK.
Darn!!! That is such a cool tune, too!!!
Well, I still need the cd!
The ladies who run John's website, www.johnbarrowman.com, have told the people on the yahoo list that they have made the record company aware of the international interest in the song. Hopefully it will show up on US ITunes soon.
Series 5 is going to have a DVD release. I think this is for the U.K., though. I'm not sure if they even release the individual disks in the U.S. or just wait for the whole set to come out. But here's the link:
Series 5 DVD Volume 1
why are they breaking these shows into volumes all of a sudden?
I think they've done it for all the new series(es), in the U.K. at least, because I've seen individual DVD's from all the series on sale along with the full set.
That volume release is only in the UK---they release the full set here in the US.

It's all about money, Spidey, both from people who are too impatient to wait for the full set to come out and from obsessive completists who must have every Who DVD ever.
I love my WHO but I would rather wait and enjoy the entire series at one time.
